Utah governor Huntsman is all in favor of it, and I’ll warn all y’all up front... he wants to be the GOP’s next McCain. He’s a socialist in a fancy suit, and is all for putting the most conservative state in the union on the rear teat of the feral govt.

There’s gold AND black gold up there.

And ladies, the saying in AK is the “odds are good, but the goods are ‘odd.’”

The Yukon, now there’s a thought. Up to a mile wide. And the salmon. Oh.

Now’s for some vittles!

“Isn’t it included in the “stimulus’ bill that the state legislature can override the Governor?”

Yep. Good ‘ole Clyburn slipped that fine print in since Sanford didn’t want to take it.

Well, I'm the first who would love to see a "red state union". And I've been hoping these Governors would get together to give us the foundationof an "alternative" that we can rally around..

But, this doesn't sound right. I'll believe it went I see it. -:) On the positive side, in one of your links, I saw that Gov. Palin isn't going to DC for the Governors meeting with the Pres---Now, that's good news.

So is this anything new or is it the same story that has been kicking around for a few days now.

CNN wants to include the governors who are partially rejecting some items in the stimulus and counting them towards the overall total, then they can yell racism on the part of the GOP (MSM narrative)

I’m betting on a huge crisis before the 2010 elections and elections will have to suspended because we are too much of a crisis.

Republicans might win big in 2010...

A pretty ambiguous statement IMO.

Replace "Republicans" with "Conservatives" and perhaps your promotion totes some credibility.

Perhaps, my friend. As it is, they're all going to take some of the money, if not all, imo. [They're politicians-:)]

Too bad, in reading the headline, I had hoped we had the rumblings of a principled movement-- not yet, it would appear.

Gov. Perry Responds to Passage of Economic Stimulus
February 19, 2009

http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/11969/

On behalf of the people of Texas, please allow this letter to certify that we will accept the funds in H.R. 1 and use them to promote economic growth and create jobs in a fiscally responsible manner that is in the best interest of Texas taxpayers. I remain opposed to using these funds to expand existing government programs, burdening the state with ongoing expenditures long after the funding has dried up.

Sincerely,
Rick Perry
Governor

The Tenth Amendment states:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Therefore, the governors cannot be forced to take the money. However, I doubt the perfesser of Constitutional Law residing in the White House has ever read it in entirety. As for San Fran Nan...can she even read???
