The White House is lashing out publicly and personally at a CNBC reporter whose attack on President Barack Obamas anti-foreclosure plan caught fire on the Internet on Thursday.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs jumped at the chance to go after the CNBC journalist, Rick Santelli, when a question about his bracing critique was asked at Fridays news briefing.
Ive watched Mr. Santelli on cable the past 24 hours or so. Im not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives or in what house he lives but the American people are struggling every day to meet their mortgages, stay in their jobs, pay their bills, send their kids to school, Gibbs said. I think we left a few months ago the adage that if it was good for a derivatives trader that it was good for Main Street. I think the verdict is in on that, the press secretary said, poking directly at the cable journalist, who reports from the trading floor at the Chicago Board of Trade.
Gibbs insisted Santelli was misinformed when he said Obamas program would amount to a transfer of money from prudent taxpayers to those who had taken reckless risks.

Steve-I don’t think Gibbs is presenting a “good image” of Obama on his best day, and this attack today is pathetic.
He'd be the first one to read that I owe of. No one in Congress has ever read it.

The criteria for the Antisocial Personality Disorder were made by Andrew, Endicott and Robbins because of concern in the development of the DSM-IV that too much emphasis was focused on research data.
Note that researchers have heavily criticized the APD criteria (see below) because not enough emphasis was placed on traditional psychopathic traits such as a lack of empathy, superficial charm, and inflated self appraisal.
These latter traits are harder to assess than behavioral problems (like impulsivity and acting out).
Thus, the DSM-IV framers sacrificed validity for reliability. That is, the APD diagnosis focuses on behavioral traits, but only limited emphasis is placed on affective and unemotional interpersonal traits.
[edit] Diagnostic criteria
Three or more of the following are required:[1]
1. Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest;
2. Deceitfulness, as indicated by repeatedly lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure;
3. Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead;
4. Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults;
5. Reckless disregard for safety of self or others;
6. Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations;
7. Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.
The antisocial behavior must not occur exclusively during an episode of schizophrenia or a manic episode.[3]
Sex differences: According to DSM-IV (in a 1994 publication by the APA), Antisocial Personality disorder is diagnosed in approximately three percent of all males and one percent of all females.[1]

Causes
The exact cause of APD is not known, but biological or genetic factors may play a role.
If a parent has had the disorder it increases the chance of the disorder. A number of environmental factors in the childhood home, school, and community may also contribute to the disorder.
Robins (1966) found an increased incidence of sociopathic characteristics and alcoholism in the fathers of individuals with antisocial personality disorder.
He found that, within such a family, males had an increased incidence of APD, whereas females tended to show an increased incidence of somatization disorder instead.[14]
Bowlby (1944) saw a connection between antisocial personality disorder and maternal deprivation in the first five years of life.
Glueck and Glueck (1968) saw reasons to believe that the mothers of children who developed this personality disorder usually did not discipline their children and showed little affection towards them.
Adoption studies show that both genetic and environmental factors can contribute to the development of the disorder. These studies have also shown that genetic factors are more important for adults with the disorder, while environmental factors are more important in antisocial children. [15][14]

The politics of personal destruction. Just like the good old days.
Ugh....thanks!
Gibbs must have a copy of the real COB
He said enough right there. Anybody wonder where Gibbs lives?
He may find himself out of a job, just like Joe the Plumber.
Oh, we’ll soon know EVERYTHING juicy about Mr. Santelli, if the press is true to form.
Do you know what the saddest thing is, after reading those threads?
The realization that they’re going to win.
Damn good observations....fits in with his Minister's views....Rev Wright should be pleased.
For many years Rick was one of the only individuals on CNBC (along with Art Cashin) I would leave the sound on for. Must have watched hundreds of hours with the sound muted just for the quotes. I’m glad Rick is getting recognition now and hope he doesn’t get shafted by the messiah’s heavies.
A lot of people ...most outside of Freeperville ...don’t get it yet....our numbers are small.
Let the “Chicago Tea Parties” begin...even if they have to
begin with FReepers!
“Im not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives “
Wanna take a bet on that?
But isn't that very predictable for the lib-whiners?
whereas many here thought it was a purity of thought game.
Wow, I’m glad the video is getting all this attention.
Did you see #3 on the Viral Video Chart ... Obama’s Elf? Lol, it’s short, but kinda funny.
If this state of mind catches on, there may very well be a civil war in this nation, and all because stupid people voted a marxist into the WH thinking they were going to get free handouts.
