I meant lopping OFF heads. Not making much sense after the re-read.

You must lop before you lob.

zerO and Rahm Emmnuel figured out they don’t need to deal with McConnell

Just find and pick off 3 weak-kneed RINOs
It only cost them about $65 billion to buy all three

The GOP is dead in the Senate

(this from Dick Morris)

Quorum call means they don’t have enough senators on the floor to do any business. It is a call for them to come to the floor. I am saying it will be great if Reed can’t get anyone to come back tonight. I can dream, right?

its symptomatic of the fact that regular people like us are FLOODING the phone lines and email boxes of the asses who are trying to rape us.

They KNOW we do NOT want this, an majority of America does NOT want this, and the Senate KNOWS deep down that anyone voting yes for this has a BULLS EYE on their foreheads when it comes to re-election.

Rightly so.

Besides, he’s still pushing for a ANOTHER “stimulus” (read BAILOUT) bill, despite his grandstanding on pork spending in this one, instead of doing the right thing and just voting NO to government meddling in the private sector to begin with.

As Specter talked..he kept sayingit was a bad bill..and he looked bad..and talked about his heartburn...and then said he would vote for it because obama(or his advisors) told him things that showed they needed the bill now.
I don’t know what went on behind closed doors..was he bribed or blackmailed..but he surely didn’t look like he wanted to vote for it.

Unfortunately, the courts have ruled that Senators (Federal Elected Officials) cannot be subject to state recall efforts, neither of which ME or PA have one.

Now’s the time to start finding replacements. Not 2010, 2012, or 2014.

Who’s running against Spector? And is this person going to able to effectively communicate conservative principles so that they don’t get blown out by 15-20 points? I don’t know if Ed Rendell is running or not but the seat will be hard to keep (R) either way.

Who’s going to run in ME? What name recognition is there?

We can talk all day about RINO’s and liberals sending the country up the creek, but if we aren’t prepared to do battle when the elections come around, what’s the point?

Case in point. 2010, Maryland’s Governor is rated the worst in the country. Yet, unless Bob Ehrlich runs, there’s a 90% chance O’Malley will be reelected. And Babs is up for Senate reelection against who, EJ Pipkin? I don’t suspect Steele will run for office now, not after two years because turning around the sinking GOP ship will take years and might reflect negatively were he to leave before making any progress.

Kennedy could have a relapse before the vote. Are they standing by with a bottle of vodka?

It used to be where that someone would stand on the floor of the Senate for hours and read a phone book or something like that.

That was a REAL filibuster, not the "lite" version we have today where the majority leader figures the bill won't be considered until there are 60 votes secured as necessary for cloture to stop a real filibuster. None of them has the fortitude to hold the floor in the time honored fashion.

the 2 republican traitors sold out for a reduction of about $65 Billion

which after their vote will either be restored in committee after the vote, or passed as a seperate teeny weeny tiny bill

The only thing the government is stimulating with this bill is itself. There’s a word for that.

Here are the Senate Cloakroom numbers from 2006. Don't know if they are the same in 2009, but I think they are.

The 2 Senators that represent .3% of the US population have stabbed the GOP in the back one too many times.

Particularly disgusting considering the ENTIRE GOP CAUCUS in the House was able to make a stand AGAINST THE BIGGEST THEFT OF TAXPAYER MONEY IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.

They will pay a price, when they least expect it.
