Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) has pulled out of negotiations on a bipartisan compromise on the Senates economic stimulus bill.
Three Republicans Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Olympia Snowe (Maine) and Arlen Specter (Pa.) continue to negotiate with Democrats, but Voinovichs departure could make it more difficult for Democrats to reach the 60 votes they need to pass the bill.
Voinovich left a meeting in Senate Majority Leader Harry Reids (D-Nev.) office around 2:30 p.m., saying he did not believe there was a deal he could agree to on an amendment that would cut as much as $100 billion from the more than $920 billion measure.
Ive really tried to work on this, but the three things that it should be timely, that it should be temporary and it should be targeted, that was something that I looked at, Voinovich said. It just doesnt meet my criteria, and I feel very sorry because I think the Majority Leader has his responsibility, and hes got his Members that he has to take care of.
WE ALL ROCK!!
GO FREEPERS GO!!
Hey, senators: How about taking care of the American people for a change instead of your own sorry butts.
All Specter’s Washington line is busy, and his district office voicemails are all full.
I’m gonna keep trying. We’ve got to stop him from voting the wrong way.
Sessions up now confusing everyone with real facts, LOL!
God Bless you!
Specter is in hiding....lol. He knows we are outraged!
Fax him a pic of a $2000.00 check made out to him on fire...LOL!!
Well, only Ras shows such a huge drop, though the others do show only slight majority support for it....It is not popular, that’s for sure.
Thanks for the ping!
All circuits are busy. I tried calling Senator McConnell, but his line is busy too. I got through to Senator Bunning’s office. I’ll keep trying the other three.
Thanks for the heads up!
Go Sessions Go!!
LVD,
I don’t trust him to keep his word. We have to keep calling his offices in state, and in Washington.
We have too. He cannot be trusted. Anyone that lives here knows I’m right about this.
Not to worry. Among Specter, Snowe and Collins the dems have MORE than enough RINO hide to make certain that the nation and the people will be betrayed.
Impact is always stronger when you make the arguments calmly because it gets through the facade of it’s just misplaced anger, etc.
That was the plan to give the rinos cover. Pork it 100 Billion in the senate..then let the rinos take 100 billion off..so they can try to say they ‘shaved off 100 Billion’ before they voted for it.
Smoke and Mirrors stuff!
It is still the Obama/Pelosi Porkulus bill that came out of the house!
They think we are all stupid enough to buy it...lol
I'm going to bed now (very late here) but will hit Snowe's and Specter's numbers in the morning which will be late night/wee hours of the morning there.
I've already contaced my two senators for what it was worth, but they were never going to go along with it anyway. (I kind of wondered about Hutchison at first, but I was assured by her office that she is against it.)
Yes, I know.
Good advice. It was all I could do today to act sugar sweet to those rats!
I deserve a freeper academy award for the act I put on with the ones I got through to...lol. I would have rather cussed like a sailor!
Emails sent ... BUMP!
Don’t forget - Judd Greg is NOT voting! One less republican.
You too ay, I let loose on him like never before. Made my day!
It’s a shame they basically ignore you unless you get irate right in their face.
I wonder if he got all weepy? At least he’s doing the right thing this time.
