The fact that is wasn’t removed all doubt that there was a predetermined outcome. It was shameful.

WHY WAS THE LAST PLAY NEVER REVIEWED?

It was.

Hmmm. I just thought the refs had a pathetic day overall.

I gotta hand it to the Steeler team. They made some really great plays.

I can’t remember the last time, when I saw that called by the officials.

-—”Are you aware of what a small market Pittsburgh is?”-—

Give me a break. The NFL would give anything to see the Steelers win about every two or three years. They’d make a ton on the marketing alone. Every announcer grew up watching the Steel Curtain, and is a fan; and every commentator and ref either grew up in PA or played on or coached the Steelers.

Small market my rear end......

ESPN just reported that the play was NEVER reviewed to see if it was a forward pass.

Calling an organized theft an organzied theft is not sour grapes.

My 13 year old son even caught that but - he was rooting for the Stillers anyway.

Why review the play? It’d leave an outside shot that the Steelers might lose. Besides, they’d have to try and find another reason to throw a questionable flag on Arizona if they did pull it off in the last second, anyway.

You think they want to market the NFL Champion Cardinals when they could have their money team win it?

If it was reviewed and not overturned, that just makes it even worse.

LOL! Sure. If anything, Pitt fought the refs basically trying to give the game to the Cards in the 4th quarter. Hartwig's holding call almost handed them the game. Of course, champions overcome bad calls. Losers act like Al Gore in the 2000 election.

You should probably follow Melissa MAnchester's advice here:

Don't cry out loud

Just keep it inside, learn how to hide your feelings

Fly high and proud

And if you should fall, remember you almost had it all

It’s too bad the officiating wasn’t on the same level as the play on the field. It was kind of appropriate that the game end on a disputed call. Maybe the NFL got the result they wanted.

Oh go to hell. The refs almost decided the game in favor of Arizona in the 4th quarter on the Hartwig call and the questionable holding call on the first play of the last drive. Plus, the photos show that the Ben touchdown called back was actually a touchdown. Of course, the Steelers have been fighting through bad officiating all year. The difference is they decide to win in spite of it instead of whining like a p***y. Oh yeah, and the Cards player who threw a haymaker at the beginning of the game wasn't even whistled for a penalty.

"Clark hit McGahee too hard. Harrison pushed the guy on the ground, the refs are paid off, wahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!"

If you were my 3 year old son, I'd slap you.

PA Mom....not sure if you’ve seen this. Today was the first time I have. It was posted on WTAE’s website.

Twas The Night Before The Super Bowl
January 30, 2009
A few Myron Cope fans forwarded this e-mail to us over the past week.

(And by “a few,” I mean, like about 100.)

So, as Pittsburgh heads into Super Bowl weekend, we figured we’d post it here for everyone to see. Enjoy!
—————————————–

‘Twas the night before the Super Bowl, when along the gulf shore,
Steelers fans were praying for “just one more;”

The players were nestled all snug in the sack,
With visions of the first NFL Six-Pack;

Coach Tomlin was young, but wise for his years,
So I drifted off to sleep without any fears;

When at the stadium there arose some strange chatter,
The Cardinals feared, what was the matter;

We heard “Okel Dokel”, we heard “Double Yoi,”
We jumped from our beds, our hearts jumped for joy;

He stood at the fifty with a grin ear to ear,
Steelers fans everywhere started to cheer;

Then in an instant to our surprise,
This little old man had tears in his eyes;

He went to the booth and there took his chair,
While Terrible Towels waved in the air;

Then over the airwaves came his shrill voice,
The Steelers Nation began to rejoice;

He said, “I am back, but you know I can’t stay,
I just had to see my Steelers play;

From my home up above, I have a great view,
But I wanted to celebrate here with you;

So bring on the Birds, we’ll send them a flyin’,
On the way back to Phoenix, they will be cryin’;

Ben, Hines, Troy, Jeff and all of the rest,
No matter the outcome, to me you’re the best;”

The airwaves went silent, the stadium still,
Was this just a dream, it seemed so real;

In our team we have faith, in our team we have hope,
But the game’s not the same without Myron Cope;

On the first drive, 3rd and goal - why wasn’t Pittsburgh called for “assisting the runner” ?

I'm not sure you're receptive to this, but I will tell you what would have happened had Pittsburgh been called for "assisting the runner."

The touchdown would have been nullified, the Steelers would have taken a penalty, and then they'd have gotten another shot at a 3rd down touchdown. A penalty was not called, which doesn't surprise me because I've never seen it called in all of the many hundreds of NFL games I've witnessed, and so the touchdown counted. Except that then upon review the touchdown was nullified, and the Steelers had to settle for 3.

So the Cards got a break.

Based on the childish behavior you've displayed on this thread, the fact that you'd slap a 3 year old doesn't surprise me a bit. You're such a big, bad man, ain'tcha?

That is a lovely poem...if I could (and I had the appropriate tree and sound affect) I would dub you a ‘Cope-A-Nut’ for that post.

FYI, only 100 arrests last night; very nominal damage (mostly just litter). Other than a burned out trash dumpster and a PAT shelter, not nuch trouble. Tomorrow at noon the victory parade will commence (last time 250k showed).
