OBAMA RE-SWORN IN
At 735 pm, Roberts administred the oath of office again to obama in the map room. Robert gibbs said the wh counsel, greg craig, believes the oath was fine Tuesday, but one word was out of sequence so they did this out of a "an abundance of caution." "We decided it was so much fun..." Obama joked while sitting on a couch. Obama stood and walked over to make small talk with pool as roberts donned his black robe. "Are you ready to take the oath?" Roberts asked. "I am, and we're going to do it very slowly," obama replied. Oath took 25 seconds. After a flawless recitation, roberts smiled and said, "congratulations, again." Obama said, "thank you, sir." Smattering of applause. "All right." Obama said. "The bad news for the pool is there's 12 more balls."
Hee-hee...
Welcome to the world of 24x7 cable news TV. The News Cycle has now been shortened to 15 minutes.
That wasn't a problem in the past, because people were at the Ball that they were at, and nobody knew what other Balls were like until the Social Circuit had lunches and coffees and teas in the days afterwards to compare notes.

Yeah, it seems BO’s blunder tripped up Roberts. He interrupted the flow of the oath.
Sure seems so. Don't you just read that kind of stuff from a que card?
Don't tell that to the Obamamedia. They'll brand you a nonbeliever.
What I found particularly interesting was this line from the AP story:
The president said he did not have his Bible with him, but that the oath was binding anyway.
Undoubtedly intentional.
<<I agree, very interesting observation.
Does that make him Re-bama?
Let’s be clear about this. Obama screwed up first —he stepped on Roberts because he was too impatient to take the oath.
I agree Obama screwed up first. I guess Obama’s smoked too many drugs and his memory is permanently damaged.
As if a muslim will honor a secular oath.
IMO, everyone was told NOT to use the word “Hussein” yesterday—when they introduced BHO to come down the stairs during the oath, the announcer said “Barack H. Obama!”
Then Diane Feinstein refered to him as simply “Barack Obama”...but then when Justice Roberts spoke his name “Barack HUSSEIN Obama”, HolyO makes a bit of a startled face and starts to talk over Roberts, who then tries to repeat the next line quickly and he flubs on ‘faithfully’—then HolyO gets caught on “...will execute...”(anyone else think he was thinking “YOU, CJ, FOR MESSING UP MY OAF OF OFFICE!!!” ;-) And then they kind of rushed through the remainder of the oath.
While flying back to Washington they feared that the assassination might be the first blow in a nuclear surprise attack, so it was felt that the oath should be administered immediately. I have no knowledge whether there was a “do over” later.
My personal feeling is that taking the oath in the presence of witnesses is adequate, and that no one need administer the oath, but that is my opinion. Since the exact words of the oath are specified in the Constitution, I think the "do over" was appropriate.
The constitution specifies the exact wording of the oath, but not who should administer it.
When President Harding died, Vice President Calvin Coolidge was visiting his father in Vermont. When word of the death arrived, Coolidge senior, a notary public, administered the oath to his son. There WAS a “do over” a few days later, since it was questioned whether a notary public was adequate.
The second time he recited the oath correctly, but didn’t have his hand on the Bible, there was no Bible anywhere in sight.
It seems the Bible for him at the first swearing in was just a prop.
This just in...
Obama just resworn AT!
It was the logical choke point - truth has fallen in the street.
Nope.
No need for the stupid shouting...I was defending Chief Justice Roberts, if you think I was defending the ‘messiah’ you are BADLY MISTAKEN! BADLY! [See I can shout, too!]
