Obama White House Calls for Repealing Defense of Marriage Act

President Barack H. Obama is poised to be the most pro-homosexual chief executive in history.

Unveiling his agenda Tuesday on the newly refurbished version of the White House Web site, Obama called for the repeal of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), as well as the extension of more than 1,000 federal marriage benefits and of adoption rights to homosexual couples.

The new administration laid out its plans on the Web site--whitehouse.gov--at 12:01 p.m. EST, during Obama’s swearing-in ceremony.

The site’s “Civil Rights” section lists a number of items long on the homosexual agenda, including expanding federal hate-crimes laws, repealing the ban on homosexuals in the military and extending the definition of workplace discrimination to include sexual orientation.

In the section entitled “Support for the LGBT (Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgendered) Community,” the Web site says Obama wants full inclusion of homosexual couples under federal law.

“President Obama supports full civil unions that give same-sex couples legal rights and privileges equal to those of married couples,” the Web site says.

“Obama also believes we need to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and enact legislation that would ensure that the 1,100-plus federal legal rights and benefits currently provided on the basis of marital status are extended to same-sex couples.” the Web site says....

ya know, with the way things are going, I would not all be surprised if they collect the information on those with dissenting opinions and save it for later. If this man is as nuts as it appears, whose to say he will not turn against people, accuse them of treason and we end up living in the days of Great Britain of olde, and “off with their heads”?!

Looks like he has some gayblades at the controls.

Wait until they have Obama saying that the US will break all business and other ties with nations that prosecute homosexual behavior.

We'll jus' laugh and laugh and laugh, and Obamasama will find himself talking to the Saudis, Kuwaitis, and even his ol'bud down in Venezuela about "do you want oil or don't you".

It is to howl!!!

His ol' lady might be interested in his inordinate interest in the care and wellbeing of his homosexual friends though. My money's on her going back to Chicago within two months.

The White House website is obviously now in the hands of some rather unsophisticated rubes.

This is the rough equivalent of the Hildabeast's attempt to take over the White House Travel Office and give it to her friends by prosecuting the federal employees who'd worked there.

Can you provide reasons for others to belive that? And what do you mean by “government”? Federal, State, Local? What about American Colonial Government? How was “the government” involved in marriage in Colonial Times? Does government involvement need to be more now and if so why?

From the point of view of the government, why would it have to be a marital contract? Why not a “reproduction contract” that ends when all the children have reached maturity?

Government involvement in marriage relationships began with the movement started in the French Revolution to establish "civil registration". That included registering births, deaths, marriages and other important characteristics. The only folks who found their existence of interest to the state were royal families and the nobility.

Previously such records had been maintained by churches, mostly for baptisms, deaths and marriages.

If you want to pursue eliminating government civil registration, then go for it ~ ALL THE WAY!!!

People without an affiliation with a church of some kind wold need to form their own societies to make sure their existence was able to be verified somewhere besides their own billfolds.

No doubt modern computer systems will facilitate this.
