Until the late 60’s it was a grownups world! Slowly it started become about what the kids want - until eventually that mentality took over completely.

I’ve worked at my place of employment for 21 years. When I started there, the (what was then still known as) “Christmas” party (now a “Holiday” party) was a time when everyone seriously dressed up for this big annual event.

Nowadays, this is only a memory...now employees just wear casual stuff, whatever they had on that day. The ones that would dress up back in the day 20 years ago have since retired and all we’re left with is a bunch of snotnosed kids.

She doesn't seem to know how to hold it up. At the Home State ball, she kicked her feet out sideways to get up the steps. And when dancing, she kept stopping to yank the train out of her way. She's just not very graceful or feminine in that "dress". In post 350, it looked like the hem was filthy already.

This poor First Lady has no fashion sense herself and is being advised and fitted by someone who obviously hates her. Everything they pick for her is ugly and doesn’t fit her body type AND is the wrong color.
Everything she wears in inappropriate and awkward. (SPELLING doesn’t look right). Awkward is the word that I think fits best.

She has no control over her clothes, the dresses control her so that she can’t be herself. Tonight she was constantly having to think about the length of her dress and it got in the way of everything.

I don’t get the feeling that they really like each other very much....at all! He ushers Michelle and the girls off the stage on election night. He abandons her in the middle of the street during their walk. They never have a genuine look of love and admiration on their faces when they’re together. They’ve never been caught on camera showing affection or joking with one another, unless you call the fist bump affectionate. Other than the posed “Happy Obama Family” articles ad nauseum for the last year or so in virtually every magazine, we’ve never witnessed a warm moment between them.

I have thought the same thing. Their's seems like a marriage of convenience, or 'just part of the plan'.
