WHERE’S THE PROOF, THE SOURCE ON THIS?

Don't ask me for any proof or source. I didn't start this thread. And for the record, I have never been among those of you who have whined endlessly about this case. To those of you who are still whining, you make me sick.

Okay, looks like this is true, I’m glad they are out but it was shameful they way he left them in there and only released them at the last moment. Never a nother Bush in the white house.

Oh, for goodness sake! If he DIDN'T have pardon powers, they would still be in prison!

Can you not be thankful and admit that President Bush kept his word?

And the men will now appeal their convictions and hope to be exonerated. A pardon would not accomplish that.

I have often wondered why commutations and pardons are usually done right at the end of presidential terms.

He commuted their sentences AFTER their appeals were exhausted. He already told everyone he would look at it AFTER their appeals were done, which they finally were.

I don't think President Bush cares a bit about raising his approval, since he is GOING HOME.

‘Commuted’ from http://www.thefreedictionary.com/commuted
2. To change (a penalty, debt, or payment) to a less severe one.

Hmmmm... what will be the new panalty?

Scooter next.

I agree but with Fitzgerald out there with dirt on Blago and the Chicago machine, I'm not sure it would be wise politically. Fitzgerald is bucking for a governorship, I think. But pardoning Scooter would be the right thing to do. It was a miscarriage of justice.

Scooter Libby Pardoned

Libby, who had been indicted on five felony counts for perjury, false statements and obstruction of justice, and one misdemeanor charge involving an altercation with two lesbian cheerleaders, said "Yeah. Like I didn't see that one coming."

LOL! I never heard about that last charge......

I saw at LGF that Scooter’s sentence has also been commuted.
