My wonderful DH’s first job (he enlisted when he was 17, by the way) was as crew on an F-16. He then went on to college, then flight training ... and became an F-16 pilot. He was in the air, protecting us, on 9-11 ... and I was so very proud. He recently returned from his 5th deployment to Iraq.
...and some here assumed he was a Navy guy. ;)
Everyone knows Squids can’t swim!
The Hero Of Flight 1549

The heroic Sullenberger, 57, has worked for US Airways since 1980, and before that spent more than six years as a U.S. Air Force F-4 fighter pilot.

Richard Ogg is an easier name to remember.
My nephew wants to be a Pararescueman and just missed the cut. He says he'll be back for another try in the future. He is really excited about working on a crew and he's a super smart kid. He'll do great at anything he does, I'm sure of it.
The radio station said the plane is now tied to a pier. I was suprised that it did not sink.
The news showed the air temp in NYC was 21 deg F at the time. Wow.
The miracle on the river.
talk about the sovereignty of God in putting this expert/hero in this cockpit at this time.....amazing—and i bet there are many stories about the crew as well. good for all of them.
A real man and a real hero.
God Bless you Captain Sullenberger. You are a true American hero!
“Sully” for president! We only have a few days to get him inaugurated.
It may be held up with flotation bags now. I imagine a crane will lift it out of the water tomorrow.
Thank you and your husband for your service to our country!
Air Force Academy graduate.
. . . and a USAF Academy grad. Go Falcons!
This will go down as one of the greatest flying feats of all time. Captain Sullenberger is forever part of aviation history now.
