Chief Justice John Roberts has sent a full-throated challenge of Barack Obama’s presidential eligibility to conference: Lightfoot v. Bowen (SCOTUS docket page). I.O. interviewed Lightfoot lead attorney, Orly Taitz at 2:20pm CT, today, minutes after she learned of this move.
Taitz believes, “This is Chief Justice Roberts telling the Congress… the other eight Justices, that there is a problem with this election.”
The Lightfoot case has legal standing, due to litigant, Libertarian Gail Lightfoot’s vice presidential candidacy in California. It also address two major issues of legal merit: 1. Obama’s failure to provide legally evidentiary documentation of citizenship and American birth and, 2. his United Kingdom citizenship at birth, passed to him by his Kenyan father when that nation was a British colony. (Other current challenges also submit that Obama’s apparent status as an Indonesian citizen, as a child, would have caused his American citizenship to be revoked.) This case is therefore considered the strongest yet, to be heard by the Supreme Court. Obama challenger, Philp Berg had previously been granted conference hearings, scheduled this Friday, 1/9 and on 1/16.
Roberts was submitted this case on 12/29, originally a petition for an injunction against the State of California’s Electoral College vote. His action comes one day before the Congress is to certify the Electoral College votes electing Barack Obama, 1/8. The conference called by Roberts is scheduled for 1/23. Orly Taitz is not deterred by the conference coming after the inauguration, which is to be held 1/20, “If they find out that he was not eligible, then they can actually rescind the election; the whole inauguration and certification were not valid.” The strongest time for legal and judicial rulings are generally after the fact.

Oh, so people are expected to place their lives in jeopardy, and face a battery of death threats simply because Obama refuses to pay a twelve dollar processing fee and show the public a certified copy of his long form Birth Certificate....? Gee, thanks for clearing that up.
He doesn't have to put his life in that kind of jeopardy to do his research and submit it to the courts.

Using nastiness, disrespect and agressive derision as tactics, when called on this, they play the victim card and say others are calling them names.
They think no one sees their methodolgy, but they are wrong. Many people just don’t want to participate on these - my conjecture - because they don’t want the dog pack to bark at and bite them. Looks like another method to control the discussion.

By default, these trolls are taking over the atmosphere at FreeRepublic.com. We have a pretty extensive list and their behavior can be verified by clicking on their names. Apparently it doesn’t bother the owner, so what can ya do? I use to pay for the time I spent here. Guess I should stop spending time here.

Since I’ve only been able to type one handed for a week and a half, plus illness has dulled my wits and lessened my energy, my method for dealing with the axelturfing Alinsky-ites has graduated into not reading their crap whenever possible and not responding to it. Just think - if absolutely no one responds to them, all they do is circle jerk (pardon the crudity). They’ll try harder and harder to get a rise out of others, thus revealing more their tactics.
I think it’s definitely worth a try.

Yes, there is a seal in this image. It isn't easy to see, but it is there if you look for it. It can be revealed more with image processing. A fact which I believe Polarik concedes.

I was hoping to find some source information on the issue that prompted this notice, but haven't found anything. I did find a similar notice on another county's web site. So we'll have to just go with the notice itself and what it actually says. It does tell us a lot.
The problem they are facing is, "DUE TO COMPUTER PROGRAMMING THE BIRTH ABSTRACTS SHOW THE COUNTY OF ISSUE AS THE PLACE OF BIRTH EVEN IF THE INDIVIDUAL WAS BORN IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY AND ADOPTED IN CALIFORNIA."
It has to do with adoptees. Why? Because when someone is adopted their original birth records are removed and placed in an archive where they can only be retrieved by court order. They are replaced with new records showing the adopting parents as the parents. Due to some incorrect programming, abstracts from these records were not using the original birth location.
Does this mean that Obama's certificate might have the wrong birth location? No. For several reasons.
1. They are taking these steps because this is an error condition, not normal practice.
2. They specifically identify two states where this is an issue. If Hawaii were one of them it would have been identified too.
3. Nobody alleges he is adopted. It specifically identifies certificates for adoptees as the problem, which are treated very differently. If he wasn't adopted this wouldn't be an issue.

I don't like arguing the way you do it. I prefer rational discussions, not name calling. But that's the way you wanted it and nobody was stopping you, so everyone else basically has no choice but to follow your lead.
If the moderators are going to start stepping in and telling people to stop being abusive then that's wonderful. Maybe we can talk about the issues instead of whining about "trolls".
