Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Christ would have been on our side

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Christ would have been on our side Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Nico Hines

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's unexpected Christmas message is full of seasonal goodwill, but the Iranian President clearly believes that if Jesus Christ were alive today he would be on the side of Iran not the West.

In a pre-recorded speech, Mr Ahmadinejad suggests that Christ would have rallied against any global superpower who sees fit to occupy or bully other nations or send troops to expand their power.

“If Christ was on earth today undoubtedly he would stand with the people in opposition to bullying, ill-tempered and expansionist powers,” he said in a message of defiance clearly aimed at the US and its allies.

“If Christ was on earth today undoubtedly he would hoist the banner of justice and love for humanity to oppose warmongers, occupiers, terrorists and bullies the world over.”

“If Christ was on earth today undoubtedly he would fight against the tyrannical policies of prevailing global economic and political systems, as He did in His lifetime.”

Nut-job is the international political equivalent to a car crash...people listen to him to see what additional carnage to truth and reality he might perpetrate.

Christ would have been on the side that wants to kill as many people as possible that aren’t Muslim?

Nutjob.

so, Christ would be anti-Christ?

An assertion like that is the tea-bag tagline definition of insanity, right? I think Plato would agree. If he knew what a tea-bag tagline was.

Jesus Christ would have warned the people about the sin of worshipping a meteorite, honoring false prophets who liked screwing twelve year-old girls and following a false religion that glorify the killing of anyone who rejects its teachings.

Three strikes and you’re out, Mahmoud.

Many sick people were able to exercise their alla simply by touching Christ’s robe.

Ummm...I have to think Christ would be on the side of the Jews, if some insane religious moron was on a path to destroy them, that is.

Mr. Dinnerjacket...if you won't consider how utterly decimated the enemies of the Jews were in the 7-day war, then you certainly should rent the first Indiana Jones movie. Gowan, open the Arc...I dare you.

Joh 1:41 ...We have found the Messiah (which is, being translated, the Christ).

This Jesus claimed to be both Lord and the Messiah (Christ), Christ is not a last name it is a title of divinity.

It is also said of him in Col 1:16 - For all things were created in Him, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created through Him and for Him. And in Col 2:9 - For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

These are claims that the Muslims will not recognize so why would they even refer to Him???

Two posts following the Times article. Both from England naturally and sympathetic toward this man and indeed the "similarities between Islam and Christianity".

Now if Jesus had been there in that area between November 1979 and January 1981 when the hostages were being held, what then? His blessings? I think not.

The little serpent was likely one of the hostage takers- if not where was he? The hostages spent two separate Christmas days in captivity. Let us not forget them. Let us see this serpent for what he is. Better still, since he is what he is, let us consider the weak kneed fools and their anxious to please- feed the crocodile mentality.

Update on my post re comments on the Times website.

Two posts first up were "James Smith" and "Ted". Lovely togetherness and damn the Iraq war. Not in direct order but others picking up the slack.

The serpent reviled.

So Ahmadinejad is now speaking for the mind of God. I can’t wait for Obama to sit down with this guy and talk without preconditions.

I think that it is less important to question "Whose side Christ would be on?", since that is unknowable and it's natural to assume "it's ours", who ever "we" may be.

It's more important to question whether "We are on HIS side"? Are we doing unto others as we would have others do unto us? Are we honoring our God and no other gods?

Make no mistake, if I were attempting to destroy others in order to make them worship who I worship, then I would expect to get my ass kicked badly so this isn't a weak-kneed response to Muslims or to Ahmadinejad. It's just that I think that we have forgotten to question ourselves re "Are we on HIS side?". And on Christmas Eve especially, it is not an inappropriate question ask.

“If Christ was on earth today undoubtedly he would stand with the people in opposition to bullying, ill-tempered and expansionist powers,”

Explain the 8+ years of Iran/Iraq war in the 80s.

“If Christ was on earth today undoubtedly he would hoist the banner of justice and love for humanity to oppose warmongers, occupiers, terrorists and bullies the world over.”

Oh, like Saddam Hussien... Oh wait, President Bush took care of him already. Not that I'm comparing the President to The Savior, but President is doing good works, and by your works you will be known. What has ahm-a-nut-job done?

“If Christ was on earth today undoubtedly he would fight against the tyrannical policies of prevailing global economic and political systems, as He did in His lifetime.”

Tyrannical? We're about to execute yet another peaceful transition of power - to someone who isn't all that popular with a fair percentage of the population. Yet we do it. Now, what's happening in Iran?
