BAGHDAD -- President George W. Bush on Sunday made a farewell visit to Iraq, a place that defines his presidency, just 37 days before he hands the war off to a successor who has pledged to end it

Thank you President Bush for winning this war and freeing Iraq. There was nothing you could do about this economy, its been sabotaged for 30 yrs by the Dem Corruption.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Let’r roll out the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED banner, this time for real. The war is over, we won. Godspeed to our troops.
I agree with much of what you said, but I have to ask: did you vote for the incumbent rep and Senator in your district/state over the last 8 years? Are you against term limits? If you answered either question yes, then you are a bit more to blame then you seem to want to accept.
Stuff it!
Stuff it.
I read your post and took all you said into consideration.
thanks for responding with clear arguments.
I am more upset with congressional conservatives than I am with Bush. I believe you did what you could, and I hope we can all move forward with effort to strengthen the conservative movement through congressional changes.
thanks again for your response.
What a neat surprise!
thank you. I needed that!
Hey Allegra, Merry Christmas.
IIRC, last time we posted, the trolls were amongst us then too.
Stay safe.
Bush kept us safe for 8 years? HA! Tell that to the thousands of American victims of illegal alien crime each year since 9-11.
president bush will never get the credit he deserves
by the left wing media.
Excellant points.
Maybe we can use Freep to mobilize our local and state efforts to organize the conservative movement.
all that said, Freep still brings out the information in one spt that we woud other wise not have, and speaks to many who want that info.
Bump for President Bush.
He said it wouldn’t be easy and it wouldn’t be fast. He didn’t waiver, he saw it through. Some regrets but too few to mention. He took the blows and did it his way.
Wish Frank was here.
I could not agree with you more. You won't see that in the Obama presidency. Texas will welcome him home and be glad to have him him back.
Man, that would be great..at a dinner for Bush to have Sinatra sing “I did it my way!”
I don’t know how he could do it. I sure couldn’t have the guts, tenacity and fortitude he has.
I can barely keep it together at work with the Maroons I am surrounded by..ha...how he did it with EVERYONE ( except maybe Blair and a few others) against him! wow.
It’s nice to see he’s visting the heroes...God only knows their heroism...I hope he will also stop by the embattled Christian communities that have been all but decimated by the assorted Muzzies he so wants to help.
Yes, I voted for my congressman this time and last. He has only been there about 6 years. Term limits can be taken with the vote. Yes, we probably need a mandatory “retirement term” limit rule, but you know as well as I that that is not going to happen. I voted for BOTH of my senators. You can bet your rear that I will continue to vote for Jeff Sessions. One of the few devoted conservative senators. Shelby is on a election by election with me. He is a former dimocrat and came to the republican side back when he saw the big wave going republican in the south. I trust him about as far as I could throw him. I don’t accept any blame for my votes for three republicans that cannot be described as RINOs.
Well it seems to me that the proof of your comment is in the Pudding.
Democrats hold large majorities in the Congress and now have won the White House and it has nothing at all to do with anything of substance.
They didn’t campaign on substance they Campaigned against BUSH.
I assume, in politics, it is easier to tear someone down then to build someone up. All they really said was that they would be ANTI-BUSH, to date Obama seems to be nothing of the sort.
He seems to be exactly what he campaigned to be, a pragmatist. Bush’s third term, maybe. The problem for America is, was that what was needed at this juncture?
Of course he will communicate it so much more eloquently for those inclined to hear such prose in the articulate and clean voice of Obama or for those that aren’t inclined it will just be more BS.
More on your Reagan comparison you left out someone that GRANTED, I will type it again for possible penetration GRANTED, AMNESTY TO 3 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS and later said he regretted the decision.
“Do I agree with many of his policies? No.
Does he infuriate me with some of his decisions, many of which are the antithesis of conservatism? Yes.
But do I like Bush the man, the person, and wish him and his family all the best? YES.
Have a safe trip, Mr. Bush. Merry Christmas.”
I shall second that answer in spades. Thank-you President Bush for an interesting but safe four years. May God bless you.
