My God! The unions are actually going to pull this one off! Their unionization-by-intimidation bill is actually going to pass! Now just ask yourself .. what would you do if you were an employer and you felt that the Democrats were on the verge of passing the union's "card check" bill. Well .. I'll tell you what I would do. I would be looking at any automation that I could find that would reduce my workforce. I would then go with all of the offshore options I could find that would allow me to get rid of more employees. Then I would go to staffing agencies for the rest of my workforce. The people working in my place of business would not be working for me. They would be working for a staffing agency. If they want to unionize something, they can unionize the staffing agency. If the Democrats bring us "card check" along with an expansion of the Family Leave Act my guess is that there are a lot of employers out there who will do everything they can to get rid of employees.
Unions played a big part in destroying the big three automakers. Now they can play a similar role with your business. Aren't you workers glad you voted for Obama? You might have voted yourself right slap out of a job.

I am working on that right now. I sell Real Estate so that hasn't made me any money, if by selling an asset this year I might have to pay capital gains, I will by the end of the year sell a stock at a loss to counter act that gain.
No taxes will be paid by me, I am working on it right now. I am self employed with lots of expenses, it is very easy to do this.
BTW, capital gains on dividend and assests, under Bushes tax plan, is 0% for both 2008 and 2009. You have to be in the 15% tax bracket or under to qualify. Net income of $65,100 or less.
The Republican party will likely not extist by then. That’s why it’s necessary to kill it once and for all. A new political party will not have all the negative baggage that the Bushes saddled the GOP with and will likely be more discriminating in allowing RINOS to join. In effect we have an opportunity for a genuine Conservative party on the horizon. We should name it the Reaganite party.
I have been a bookkeeper for small business most of my life.
I would immediately sit down with any business and look hard at their total structure.
I would ask them about their origins- Mom-Pop type or what.
I woud see if the “business could be run from home/garage instead of a rented space.
I would ask the owners exactly how much money they need to SURVIVE.
Then I would recommend shrinking down to the core of 2 or 3 people and end the rent/lease and lay off every “empoloyee”. If I felt I needed a person to help the Mom-Pop core, I would either sell them a VERY SMALL share of the business and have them then be “owners” with the caveat that I could buy back the ownership at my demand. Otherwise- I would use only a temp agency. and I would NOT guarantee 40 hours a week. There is too much wasted time on every job, anyway.
You all survived when it was just 1 or 2 of you at the beginning. Cut back to that and stop paying more taxes to the Messiah.

Old man Kohlere shut down the foundry over a demand for unions and a 5 cent an hour increase.
He already paid more than other foundries.
He shut it down for over 2 years.

In order to sell something it presumes that you have something of value that is marketable to someone who has something else of value who is willing to trade.

This all looks like part of the big plan to destroy business and capitalism as well. Nationalize the businesses. Then inform the unions that they aren’t in charge anymore, since they work for the gummint. If they don’t like it, too bad, since we are in a continual crisis situation.
In the late ‘60’s I went to work at a machine shop in Tulsa. All new hires, within a day or two of starting, were told how the owner broke a union years before.
He simply told his employees that if they wanted to vote in the union, well, he was going to take his wife to Europe for a year or so. And, that if, upon his return, they still wanted the union, he’d always wanted to see Japan.
The employees voted for the union, he went to Europe, and upon his return a year later, the employees almost tore down the gate getting back in.

Can’t eat a car, or plasma TV. That would need to be converted into cash in order for the value of them to be converted into food.
Same applied to the looters. Can’t eat a plasma TV. And got to have someone with something of value to trade it to in order for that plasma TV to be worth anything.
A plasma TV has no real value if there is no electricity to run it, or even a signal to receive. Ditto for a car. No fuel to run it, it has no value.

Yes, I am kind of a newbie I suppose, although I’ve been reading this site for years. But I don’t see why I would have to subscribe to every wackjob theory that someone on my side of the fence dreams up in order to “belong here”. In fact, isn’t that kind of diatribe the reason why posts here used to get so many more replies and now it’s like four or five per post? Seems like for a while now people have been avoiding Free Republic. Could it be because the credibility goes down every time someone mentions Obama and Brown Shirt in the same sentence?
