At 3:04 pm (EST) on this date:

I am now convinced Newt is an ass, which I did not think so before. And I used to defend him.

Well. No one can say that Governor Palin hasn’t been “vetted.” The Commie bloggers and the Commie MSM gave her the Mother of all Rectal Exams these past few months. They’ll have to come up with some other Commie propaganda crap in 2012.

But Gingrich on Sunday sought to divert some media attention away from Palin and to other governors such as Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) and Utah Gov. John Huntsman (R).

“She’s going to be a much bigger story in the short run,” said Gingrich, explaining Palin’s higher media profile compared to other GOP governors. “But, I think, as she goes back to being governor and as she works in Alaska, you’re going to see a group of governors emerge, not just Sarah Palin.”

If anyone bothers to read the article, Newt does not dismiss Sarah Palin as a leader. He gives an honest and accurate assessment, imo. My guess is that there are quite a number of posters climbing all over Newt's ass for the title of the article alone. We shall see.

Personally, I think this move takes a little media heat off Sarah. Let her do her job, is she is going to be the leader, she will show herself. Cream rises to the top.

We’re probably not interested in who is not going to be the leader. There was already no leader this time around. Been there, done that.

But Gingrich, an architect of the Republican revolution of 1994, took Palin down a notch, asserting that she would not become the party’s leader, as some have predicted.

Ever since he drank the Green Koolaid, he's been off the mark....now he's way off the mark. While he may be correct that she won't be the nominee, it will only be because the DBM succeeds in nominating the least likely to win Republican for us like they did in '08. "Gingrich, an architect of the Republican revolution of 1994, took himself down a notch, asserting that she would not become the party’s leader, as some have predicted."

Gingrich’s career seems to be comprised of going on cable news programs and career advice to members of congress, none of whom care what he has to say. Palin must be having a good laugh over this latest pontification from Newt.

But..but...Newt should be the RNC Chairman.

Yeah, if they wish to continue the cycle of my not giving them jack squat.

Mt. Tri-partisanhip is a, hold your breaths class of ‘94 fans, RINO. Pushes glovbal warming, Hillary care, would cabe on the bailout but he’s a conservative? Only in another life...maybe.

“I think that she is going to be a significant player,” said Gingrich during an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation”. “But she’s going to be one of 20 or 30 significant players. She’s not going to be the de facto leader.”

I wish Newt would go back into hiding like he did after he left his SECOND wife and resigned from Speaker of the House!
He’s a very smart man but I have no use for him.

He seems reasonable here, and I love Palin. I know Newt made more than a few PR mistakes in 1990s helping demons with his demonization. Palin looks much better than Newt as a visible figure. Newt is like clinton in that he craves the spotlight.

Newt delivered in '94 for a couple of years. Since then, Newt talks and talks, but never delivers.

If Palin can lead on energy and the environment (which means she leads on the economy) that may be enough to get her to the top.

Time will tell if she has what it takes. Just as time will tell if others do. If she can show continued leadership, she'll get my vote.

Up and coming according to Gingrich:
Louisianna Gov. Bobby Jindal (R)
Utah Gov. John Huntsman (R)
Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R)

Any opinions out there?

Well, I like Palin, but as others have said, she needs to go back to AK and govern well, study international issues, the economy, tax policy. We absolutely have to have somebody who can immediately and coherently come right back at Obama when he uses his verbal sleight of hand on tax issues. The 2012 GOP candidate must be able to dispute Obama’s premises about who owns and who ought to own wealth in this country. We must have somebody who can forcefully make the case that it is immoral for the federal government to take these obscene amounts of income from upper income taxpayers, as well as argue that it destroys job creation. At least, Newt can take anybody on in a lot of these issues.

I am just not convinced Sarah is the one to pull this off. Before you call me a RINO, or Sarah hater, the only reason I ever had any excitement about the GOP ticket this time was when McCain picked her. McCain was my absolute last choice in the primary.

Also, didn’t she fall in with the “climate change” notion during the debate with Biden and the campaign? Can she back out of this?
