We’re probably not interested in who is not going to be the leader. There was already no leader this time around. Been there, done that.

Let me put it this way to the Newt fans.

Was Goldwater a conservative in his latter years because he is credited for sparking the movement in his earlier years? The answer is No.

Things change. And people change. Whatever he was, he is now a man who embraces Pelosi, Hillary Clinton and Al Gore now. He promotes liberal principles in the name of “tri-partisanship”. Maybe he mixes some conservative policies in there but guess what? So did Bush, doesn’t make either of them conservative.

I just wonder what it would take for people to acknowledge he’s NOT of us anymore. Would it take registering as a Democrat? personally I’m of the opinion it’s not the party but the principles espoused that determines if you are conservative or not.
