Gingrich says Palin will not be the future GOP leader By Alexander Bolton Posted: 11/16/08 01:05 PM [ET]

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) is batting down the hype that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin heads into 2012 as the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination.

Palin energized the Republican base after GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) tapped her as his running mate and she has tried to preserve her high public profile since Election Day.

But Gingrich, an architect of the Republican revolution of 1994, took Palin down a notch, asserting that she would not become the party’s leader, as some have predicted.

“I think that she is going to be a significant player,” said Gingrich during an interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation”. “But she’s going to be one of 20 or 30 significant players. She’s not going to be the de facto leader.”

Since the defeat of the GOP ticket, Palin has pursued an aggressive media strategy, scheduling a full slate of interviews to keep her face on television.

If Newt wasn’t such a womanizer, he would be the Republican leader. Too bad too because he is a very intelligent guy.
He wasn’t luck enough to have a wife like Hillary was for BJ Clinton. She was willing to put up with similar crap.

She should have cut taxes on the companies, created more jobs and Alaska would be better off.

“However Newt is a clever man. He knew how it would be portrayed in the media. It's clearly a shot at Palin.”

Absolutely, but we all know how the MSM lies. Anyone one that believes them deserves what they get. The problem is we get caught/harmed along with them. We can only hope Pelosi, Reid, and Obama overreach.

OK had to defend it to the SCOTUS when the Libertarians took us to Court to open up our primaries. It kept getting appealed by Libertarians who kept losing.

Four years is a lifetime in politics and it might surprise everyone that the future leader of the GOP may not be even someone who is known. What should concern us is who will lead the conservative movement and that is separate from the GOP.

Either Gingrich is right, or Palin is going to reform national Republicans like she reformed Alaska’s Republicans.

Sarah will ignite the Palin Party - The GOP has gone too far left.

Libertarians wanted to be able to vote in our Oklahoma primaries and were told NO all the way through the SCOTUS. Barr sued to get on our ballot in 2008 but you have to have 5% of the vote nationwide to get on the Oklahoma ballot as a party and Barr and the Libertarians were defeated on that one as well.

During the final weeks of this election campaign, we experienced who represents the most energizing, probably the most conservative, and certainly the most all-American future for the GOP.

...and, despite what he has done in the past, it wasn't Newt.

Newt: “Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!”

Fer Pete’s Sake. ANY of us here could grab ‘The (True) Conservative Playbook’ and freakin’ RUN the GOP these days.

Naw, that's not his plan ~ that's just something that happens when you put a Chicago crook in charge of the government.

Anyone could tell you that and it would be true every single time.

My prediction ~ Obama's time in office (if he even has any time) will set the stage for NEVER AGAIN IN HISTORY electing anyone from Chicago to national office.
