Constitutional crisis looming over Obama's birth location

The California secretary of state should refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until President-elect Barack Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office, alleges a California court petition filed on behalf of former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and others.

The legal action today is just the latest is a series of challenges, some of which have gone as high as the U.S. Supreme Court, over the issue of Obama's status as a "natural-born citizen," a requirement set by the U.S. Constitution.

WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi even traveled to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.

The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists, simply hasn't ordered it made available to settle the rumors.

The state of Hawaii would not have a birth certificate of someone not born in the state of Hawaii.

It doesn’t matter what else it says. It doesn’t matter if the entirety of the rest of his lineage is fabricated or even if his mother and father are space aliens and recorded as such on that certificate. It wouldn’t matter if his mother and father were Eva Braun and Joseph Stalin.

He Was Born In Hawaii. That’s all that is relevant to this matter. He fulfills the requirement.

The story is done. The energy wasted on this could have been spent getting a few more votes for Senate in Minnesota — and would have mattered a great deal more to the future of the US.

Biden is (or will be) a legitimately elected Constitutional officer of the United States and has every right to occupy the Vice Presidency (or to serve as acting President) as of January 20, 2009.

I thought that too, until I got to thinking about the fraud involved in an ineligible candidate on the ballot, especially at the head of the ticket. People did not really vote for Biden VP electors, they voted for electors for the ineligible BO. Thus, even Biden's election was fraudulent, and should not be left to standing. OTOH, he'd just be VP, an office not worth a bucket of warm p*$$, according to one of it's occupants, unless the President wishes it to be otherwise. I could live with Biden as VP in a McCain administration. Sarah can then come out in 2012 and kick his a$$, if some other Dim hasn't already done so in the primary, which seems highly likely.

I honestly do not see this issue going anywhere. If Obama were suddenly declared a non-American, thus the election null and void, the Watts Riots would look like a Sunday school picnic compared to the total riot that would break out on the left and by Dimocrats. Then the issue would go to the Supreme Court. THEN it is how Kennedy votes that would decide. If he decided with the conservatives and Obama was kicked out on a 5-4 vote, the dims would come unglued and the riots would continue to burn. Obama would add fuel to the fire by declaring the white men in the Supremes denied the black man his rightful place.

You may very well be right, but I hope that at least the conservative five recognize that their duty is to the law and act accordingly. I hope also that Barack will be rapidly deported to Indonesia.

If riots break out all over, then at least the Federal Government is not yet in control of the Democrats. I believe ultimately this will come to a real fight and that conservatives are better off to have it now, rather then after two years of consolidated Democratic control over the nation.

The forces aligned would be basically this: blacks, single women, liberal white males, and old geezers vs conservative white males and married women. I can tell you which side I'd rather be on.

Sorry, but Barry’s COLB, fake or otherwise simply does not qualify as verification of natural born citizenship, or status of any dual citizenship. Only his long form would have this necessary detail.

Past candidates were disqualified for this same exact concern:

One very interesting possibility is that the Donofrio suit will be declared in his favor by the Supreme Court and both Obama and McCain will be declared ineligible.

In that case I wouldn't be surprised to find that all electors voted for Obama or McCain except for a few votes for Ron Paul and Hillary Clinton. The presidency would then go to Ron or Hillary! The House cannot choose whomever they want, but must take a person from the top 3 (at most 3 actually) on the list of eligible candidates with electoral votes. Sheesh! Even Nader or Chuck Baldwin or Bob Barr might end up President.

A COLB, fake or otherwise does not muster the standards for determining constitutional elligibility.

That is why COLBs were tossed, and the long form BCs were requested for other past candidates to determine elligibility.

I just looked on the Hawaii Department of Health website. The only type of birth record that one can request from them is a "certified copy" of a birth certificate, which I think is the type of document that Obama has previously displayed. (Personally I believe that this is a real document.)

That was a Certification of Live Birth, and it's not a copy of anything, it's a data dump of information retrieved from the DoH database.

But I think it is possible to get a certified copy of the original Birth Certificate, which would look like this, pretty much any way, this one is from 1963, and the copy was made in 1968, while Obama's presumably is from 1961.

Actually, what Obama has presented is a "Certification of Live Birth," NOT a "Certificate of Live Birth."

In Hawaii, a "Certification of Live Birth," can be used to register a foreign born person. This is what is REALLY at the heart of the matter. A "Certificate" would have things like the attending doctor, hospital, etc. The "fact" that Obama was born at "Kapi'olani Medical Center" is PURELY anecdotal.

Also, aside from the constitutionally-important "Natural Born Citizen" issue, there's another reason people are wanting to see the copy of the "Certificate of Live Birth" ...

... Some believe the COLB says "Barry Soetoro," which would cause other legal problems because no name change to "Barack Obama" occurred.

Obviously, "Barry Soetoro" was not on the ballot.
