There’s no theft implied in rendering to Caesar.

Don't pi$$ on my head and tell me it's raining. Your irrelevancies aside, I work for my money, it is EARNED by me in exchange for my labor. Wealth isn't distributed by the to government to me. Maybe your fatuous comment MIGHT hold for a welfare recipient who got their ill-gotten gains from the government to start with, but "Caesar" (or Obama when he gets himself declared permanent emperor of the united states of affirmative action) doesn't so a damn thing to get me a single cent. So, when someone comes along and takes my money by force or the threat of force that's theft good buddy. You need to read Milton Friedman on the two ways to garner welath.

Not to mention any other thing that the government wants Google to “collect” from citizens surfing the web.

Actually, I like living in a country with publicly funded highways and bridges, etc. I'm also - gasp! - in favor of public education. Then again, my faith precludes me from a survival-of-the-fittest mentality that the libertarian party espouses.

And just how do you think you'd pay for the military with no taxation?

Actually, I like living in a country with publicly funded highways and bridges, etc. I'm also - gasp! - in favor of public education.

And publicly funded mortgage bailouts and publicly funded airline bailouts and publicly funded automobile industry bailouts and publicly funded housing and publicly funded health care and publicly funded food for the indolent and publicly funded education (ops you already mentioned that one) and publicly funded crucifixes in bottles of urine and publicly funded stadiums for private sports teams to make a profit from and publicly funded radio and televsion that regurgitates statist propaganda and publicly funded bridges in Alaska that go nowhere and publicly funded prescription drugs and publicly funded ethanol production that you pay for twice, etc. How does your faith feel about the aforementioned publicly funded crucifix in a jar of urine btw? How does your faith justify taking form the productine element of society to subsidize the life styles of the non productive elements. If I steal somthing from you and give it to a poor person am I not stealing? (Or in keeping with your earlier comment if I stamp a little picture of myself on your money, then is it mine?) Or do the ends justify the means? And pay for the military by subscription like the neighborhoods in NO did with Blackwater to protect them from the cops.

We need to support Leo’s lawsuit at SCOTUS and get the conservative talk show hosts to talk about it plus conservative web sites. Obama was born in Kenya. We are about to have two foreign agents running America.

For someone on this site, your view of the military is awfully naive.

Yeah, there's a lot of trash we pay for, but nothing you've written makes me believe that reasonable taxation is theft. Jesus didn't speak up against it, and I think it's very bad exegesis to say that "That shall not steal" means countries can't tax.

Smaller, more efficient government? Yes.

Survival of the fittest anarchy? No thanks. Thankfully, you will never be in the majority. :)

Have you noticed that there is a Google insignia just below the search area on Dogpile.com? I used Dogpile the other day because Google didn’t let me have freerepublic.com
That may have been because the traffic was high on the internet....

It would provide employment for the newly-unemployed. It’s why kings used to keep so many serfs around, for the army.

For someone on this site your view of government is awfully naive. Yes people like me are in the minority. There are too many fools "educated" in public skools in the majority. I bet you think (just like Obama) we have a democracy and that whatever the 50% + 1 wants, the other 50% -1 have to put up with.

v

What do you consider "reasonable" taxation? 5%, 10%, 30%, 50%, 85%? Inquiring minds want to know.

A progressive tax rate with about 20% being the highest. No loopholes. :) People who live in this country and enjoy its benefits get to pay for it. I doubt that you'd be as successful as you are if you were born in - say - Somolia. I believe citizenship comes with rights and responsibilities, and one of those responsibilities is paying taxes. Try pulling yourself up by your bootstraps over there in the middle of nowhere, and then come back and tell me you're a self made man with no help from this government.

Until then, try not to feel so much pain when you pay Uncle Sam. Life's too short. Be happy. :)

the woman you know sounds exactly like the woman I know

I have known this woman for many years but she is up in NY and I am down south.

Over the years I kept in touch and when I went up there we would meet and me stay at her house.
Over the course of time she got married to a very liberal Jewish guy who did not like me at all, she told me this.
Anyway he was so radical he actually bought a house in Chappaqua to be near the Clinton’s

Now comes the election and this is where I found we had grown apart.
No matter how many facts like Hamas endorsing obama and our enemies doing the same she said no big deal.
I pointed out her high wages would get taxed more for to pay for the lazy.
She actually told me she doesn’t mind helping people who are disabled, when I said I am not on about disabled she said well everyone needs a helping hand.
This went on time and time again, even when I pointed out the Berg case she sent a picture of a birth certificate saying he has already shown it.

It was just like she had become mentally blind or something.
She got to the point where she said I was doing what the Nazis did because I said the media was biased and sent her a link to the excellence of journalism which is non partisan.
I was then a radical right wing because I would not go along with obama’s lies

After 4 days like this I gave up and I will not be bothering much about her now .
sorry for the rant

A progressive tax rate with about 20% being the highest

Progressive tax rate identifies you as sharing a common belief with Karl Marx. What I have I have in spite of the government not because of it

...no help from this government.

The government didn't help me with a single solitary thing. If you think that somehow taking money from those who work and giving it to the poor reduces poverty, then you have obviously never heard of the 2 - 3 trillion dollars that have been taken from the productive citizens and given to those who would rather not work and YET WE STILL HAVE JUST AS MUCH "POVERTY" AS WE DID AT THE BEGINNING OF LBJ's GREAT SOCIETY. I did pull myself up by my bootstraps. It's relatively easy - you practice self denial (skip those fancy vacations and the latest gadgets), don't continually make bad life decisions (like buying a house you can't afford and then crying to the government to do something when you can't make the payments and you get thrown out) and work long hours, but it is amazing how many people just aren't willing to do that, but whine for the government to help them.
