I'm sorry for the vanity, but I'm really tired of sitting around complaining and I want to join a group to try to have an effect on upcoming elections, especially after seeing Sarah on Greta's show. I want to support Sarah and candidates like her. Dick Morris has touted The National Republican Trust, are there any other organizations out there I can support as far as time and some money goes? For the moment I'm done giving to the RNC, I'm kind of mad at how Sarah has been treated and would rather contribute elsewhere if possible to help out real conservative candidates, not Washington pinky out when drinking tea RINO's. I don't want to rule out not giving to the RNC in the future, but right now I'm mad.
We need a conservative Moveon.org.
GREAT Question and GREAT POST!
I have a few thoughts, and am actually in the processing of developing one....
but— I like Americans for Prosperity for one....
The NRA. One year $35.
The American Conservative Union. Memberships from $25.
Heritage Foundation. Memberships from $25.
Club for Growth. Free membership, I believe.
do not do not do not join a “Recruit XXXX for President” group. Way too early.
Just signed up at Team Sarah and I’m shocked they have over 56,000 members, wow!
That's a really catchy name; I like it! It may already be in use, however.
Don’t give the GOP pure contributions but join a local Republican group and maintain a presence. Build a caucus with those that are more conservative.
Join the issue groups that are most important to you...perhaps Pro-Life groups, pro-gun groups (Second Amendment Sisters), conservative women’s groups (Concerned Women of America or Eagle Forum). Build a coalition for New Jersy.
That’s what I want to be a part of, a conservative MoveOn.Org. Dick Morris has been saying I think the National Republican Trust is supposed to be a counter to that, not really sure though by looking around that site.
Also www.huckpac.com
My advise is to keep joining until you find one that allows you to be productive in ways that count -- especially on the local level -- even the local GOP organization.
FreedomsWatch was supposed to be the “answer” to Moveon.org, however no organization has matched Moveon.org’s grassroots organizing capability and fundraising capability.
Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I bookmarked all of them and joined 1 already, and I’ll check all the others out.
The verbal beating that is happening to Palin, and the complicity of the media in selecting a Presidential candidate has me saying enough is enough.
During this campaign, my 76 year old Mother, her twin, my 71 year old Aunt, and my 70 year old Mother in law all said to me, that if I could get off of work and could get tickets to see Sarah, to please get them tickets also, I wasn’t able to go to any of her rallies, but Sarah has energized these women in my family like no other candidate before. I want more candidates like her!
Are you a precinct committeeman? Call your local Republican Party and get involved.
LOL!!
It is in use.. it is the one I recommend...
the one I am working on is actually more of a movement...within a different org...
the org is Madison Forum... the movement is Back 2 the C
as in Back to the Constitution.... I already go to Universities and talk to students about the Constitution and actually hand them out to the students...this Friday will be my first time doing the same thing, but only with 3rd graders....
sry for the confusion— LOL!
