Conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck Supporting Barack Obama
Fox News ^ | 11/06/08 | Fox News

Posted on 11/06/2008 12:31:40 PM PST by autumnraine

The View's conservative cutie Elisabeth Hasselbeck stunned viewers today by throwing her support behind president-elect Barack Obama. Executive Producer Barbara Walters asked Hasselbeck, who campaigned with John McCain's running mate Sarah Palin, how she felt after seeing McCain/Palin go down to defeat on election night. Hasselbeck said her daughter Grace, 3, had asked her who won and who lost the election. "No one lost," Hasselbeck said she told her child. "Seriously, today is a victory for this country." Hasselbeck said the massive voter turnout and the excitement of the presidential contest inspired her. "I will get in a long line of supporters … for this president," she said.

"We don’t have four years"

I never said we did. Traditionally the midterm after a presidential win for a party is not good. Which means we have that to look forward too. We should get as many Republicans in there as we can. We don't do it by waiting to see how obama will govern before we oppose him, as you originally suggested. We begin opposing him now.

When a Republican is in office there are incessant attacks on intelligence and policies no matter what!!

When a demcorat is in office calls for UNITY and COMING TOGETHER are heard throughout the land

It is the SAME tired old song played out election after election.

Another thing to watch for is a 4 year long HONEYMOON with the MSM and virtually NO GOP member attacking Obama's policies or mistakes for fear of RACISM charges.

We are in uncharted waters here and it isn't going to be pretty!

Well, the way I read it is this: It’s sort of the same thing Sean Hannity is doing. Yesterday, Sean said that for the sake of the country, he wanted Obama to succeed. But that was with a BIG caveat. Sean will definitely oppose the liberal crap that comes out of this administration. IOW, I’ll bet he’ll be doing a lot more opposing than supporting. Plus, you just KNOW he’s in their crosshairs.

I wasn’t gloating - I was pointing out that he isn’t my President as your comment to me implied he was.

I see nothing to gloat about, this is a very bad time for all of us conservatives....American, British or otherwise..

I would react if ... (Al Qaeda etc) were to threaten him or denigrate him,

when it comes to Obama, i don't think you'll have to worry about that.

I agree. First of all the Pres is the Pres. He is to be supported but his policies are the differences.

Too bad there are some here who seem to be going bonkers just like the DU’ers.

We lost let it go. We need to rid ourselves of all the RINOS and posers. Until then we have no chance.

Good grief. My kid is 2 1/2 and he could name all 4 candidates (he referred to Sarah Palin as “GO Sarah Palin”)...and named who won this morning. I just asked him again who won and he said “Barack Obama”. So a 3 year old asking who won and lost isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Right on. We are perceived as being WEAK for showing grace and class. These virtues mean NOTHING to liberals.

When liberals apologize for eight years of garbage like Bushitler, McChimpy, Buck Fush and a host of other disgusting insults, Elizabeth, then and ONLY then will I even consider giving any of my allegiance or support to Zero.

Until then, he can kiss the fattest part of my arse.

I think that any peaceful transfer of power, any time that we over come the hideous brutality of racism, any time that we are free to vote for who we want,

This has been going on for quite some time now. I am wondering how you define the "hideous brutality of racism" and how recently you believe it has existed in this country.

You misunderstand - I don’t hate -

The problem is IF it was your child being killed - you mean you would stand there and let them kill your child be without you getting upset?

Would you call your feelings then - hate - just because you were upset that your son or daughter was being killed?

People who are upset about Obama - really see unborn children as innocents without protection. Is it hate to be upset about that? I don’t hate!

And NO - I won’t let the other side see these things I feel - you know I feel at home here at FreeRepublic - that I can express my feelings without someone trying to stiffle me!

And I agree that we have to strategize - but it is that passion that will see people through making the changes that are necessary.

...but to be honest, I’m sick to death of being gracious and showing class and showing the other side how much better than them we are.

I'm with you and you and you, and hopefully millions of others who aren't going to drink the Kool Aid.

There's times to be gracious and classy, and times to get down in the mud and fight.

When a socialsit wins the presidency, it's not time to be classy and gracious.

You folks are getting carried away with this politeness stuff.

Obama does not deserve respect, neither as a Senator nor as President, which office he has not taken yet. He had not done one thing in either position to earn respect.

George W. Bush is still POTUS and has a long resume as such. Give him respect if you feel like “honoring the Office.”

I only said we should wait to see what he does before we get hateful or nasty. We should start looking for his replacement NOW!

“I told my kids the same thing. Obama is our next President.”

See... I can’t even say the word, “Obama” yet. Maybe I never will. I call him The One or The Guy, but I can’t say the word. Can’t listen to the windbag’s bafflegab, either. When we got in to the Roadrunner shuttle at LAX the other evening and The Guy was talking on the radio, I said I wanted a different shuttle because “I can’t take this.” The driver changed the stations.
