In this thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2126850/posts?page=13) some people shared their experiences about what they saw after the Election.
Carley said : "You could see shock and awe on the faces of most people yesterday. The commuter train in NJ was filled with silent people, black and white, wondering just what they hell they had done.
The trip was eerily silent when its usually filled with people chatting away."
or jnygrl : "My husband takes NJ Transit. He said his train was silent yesterday until it stopped at Newark."
Please, feel free to share what you've experienced around you. It would be useful for some FReepers or others.
California is bankrupt, going hat in hand for a bailout to the federal government. So you think Californians would want to put their financial house in order and vote down all tax increases and bond measures, right? Wrong.
All tax hikes passed in CA and here in the Bay Area with the sole exception of the increase in sales tax to pay for the extension of BART to San Jose. And that one is too close to call right now. The not-so-funny thing is that, when I moved to CA in 1973, Santa Clara County had passed a 1/4% increase in sales tax a few years earlier to bring BART to Santa Clara County. Where did the 50 years’ collections of that 1/4% go? Now we are at 8-1/4%.
Me, too. I think that even those who voted for this guy are unsure what the new “speech code” is or how some thug might get in their face if they say the wrong thing. I know that old mantra we’ve heard from the left for so long - “Dissent is patriotic” - well, that one’s been taken off the books.
“My wife yesterday mentioned she wanted to move out of NM ...”
Move one state over to Texas. You would be at home here, for now!
That reminds me of my 10 yr old daughter on election night
I had such a migraine headache after standing in the cold rain to vote, I couldn’t even watch the press gloating and spinning on TV
I just went to bed with my daughter and held her
She said: “Mom, if Obama wins you just have to act like a woman and learn to live with it”
LOL! Out of the mouth of babes.
For the time being, both my kids are on strict orders to listen and not argue in the presence of kids in their schools ululating for zerO
Unusual for 3PM in a small working mans saloon type bar in Monroe NY the place was full, not an empty stool.
Mostly union construction workers who commute to NYC and local business people who just didn't feel like working.
It was eerily quiet, a somber mood hung in the air.
Depression.
The news channels were on, and every once in a while
“I don't believe it” was muttered.
I've never seen anything like it.
Didn’t Obama promise redistribution of blue eyes? I mean, if blue eyes are so pretty, and some people have 2 and other have none, is that fair?
I’m in MN too. A couple of my in-laws are 0bamabot, atheist socialists. They are officially out of my life. If my husband wants to see them, fine, but count me out.
I’m having a hard time shaking the impending sense of doom I have had since Tuesday night. My husband thinks I’m borderline crazy, but then again he doesn’t think too deeply about the implications of this election. He even suggested I stay off of FR. Fat chance of that. :)
“My wife yesterday mentioned she wanted to move out of NM”
Do it now before Hussein and the DEMS realize there is money to be made by charging a “relocation tax.”
“Im having a hard time shaking the impending sense of doom I have had since Tuesday night. “
I thought it was just paranoid ole me.
I have had a sick feeling in my gut, and not just a “we lost”, but oh crap, the you know what is going to hit the fan feeling since Tuesday.
I steeled myself for one of my part-time workers who always gives me cr@p about my politics. He’s an IT guy for the ‘Publik Screwels’ in his day job and a more brainwashed person you’ll never find.
He didn’t gloat at all about the election yesterday, which surprised the hell out of me. He said, “How are you doing today?” I said, “I’m jubilant! Now that the Dems are completely in charge, we can FINALLY blame THEM for everything!”
He just laughed.
I think most of the commuters commuting to New York City know that Wall Street will shed up to 125,000 jobs. The last vestige of the gated community who always have a job providing finance, legal contracts, selling stocks of companies that plan to move factories into the US or move US factories/jobs overseas or buy each other out. Life is good for them in the last ten years, while people on Main Street had to cope with the change caused by the business deals they help set up and finance. Now the bubble has burst as highly leveraged schemes collapse under the subprime mortgage bust and people on Wall Street will join the millions of regular Americans who must cope with cycles of employment and unemployment caused by the globalist decisionmakers in corporate offices. With over one trillion dollars in negative equity, the borrow and finance consumer economy has ended and the lost decade has begun. That is why there is silence on your train. Obama’s election did not help improve the prospects either.
There you have it -- Alabamans go to Ohio to vote, then the Ohioans drive to Illinois to vote then the Illinis drive to Wisconsin to vote.
I'm going to read John Fund's new book "Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy. He wrote a tremendous series of articles in the Wall Street Journal about 10 years ago on voter fraud and it has gotten much, much worse since then.
The only cure would be to cancel all voter registrations and give everybody six months to re-register.
Mama25 - your story is so moving. God bless you and your family. It sounds like you have some great kids (although I’d ditch those friends as soon as you can). You are in a rough place. I’ll say a special prayer for you for things to get better.
All my neighbors and family who called before the returns were worried sick, I haven't heard from a single one since.
It's either your eyes...or your 401K.
I’ll be happy to help you Beta Test that.
They're letting you know that they're coming for ya, whitey.
HOLY CRAP!
A black widow spider, there ya go.
