Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.
Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).
They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.
I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)

Excellent point and exactly. That was when we were (at least I was) ignorant of what the MSM was doing. Now, after the event Rush, about half of us are on to them.
Obama has proven that being an unknown doesn't prevent you from being President. He did have 19 months of exposure during the primaries going all over the country. I am certainly not ruling out Jindal as the nominee. My point is that Palin is no longer an unknown. She is a national celebrity. We know all about her thanks to the legions of investigators sent to Alaska to dig up dirt. Hell, we know more about Joe the Plumber than we do Jindal.
I have no problem with Jindal, but he is going to have tp prove himself on the national stage. Romney may have had one of the most impressive resumes of any candidate for President since Eisenhower. He just couldn't connect with the GOP masses.
My experience in Alaska is that it is a tough place. Todd knows.

Worked at Dutch Harbor in the windswept loneliness of the Aleutians. Logged on cold, rainy Prince of Wales Island (Southeast). Surveyed beautiful Yakutat Bay. Dredged the treacherous Gulf of Alaska for sea floor bottom samples. Loaded and rode in seaplanes flying in poor visibility in the islands of the southeast out of Ketchikan. Interviewed for flying jobs in Bethel (near Dillingham) and Juneau. traveled the inside passage many times. And lived in Fairbanks as a child.
A tough place. It’s citizens are uniquely rough. I can only imagine the administrative stuff that winds up on Govenor Palin’s desk!
Govenor Palin brings unimaginable softness, beauty, courage and grit to her job which is unlike what anyone else in Congress has.
Sarah’s graciousness, kindness and warmth is like the Aurora Borealis and heavenly sent, too.
She’s been schooled in the real world.
You guys are exactly right. Satan hates Sarah more than any other prominent American and wants her dead or as good as dead (ineffective).
Running to the left has done the party so much good- yeah we don’t need conservatives in the party. Don’t you understand what happened yesterday? The left wing of the Republican party voted for Obama and many conservatives stayed home because it is no secret that McCain is not conservative. Without Sarah even more conservatives would have stayed home.
Romney couldn’t connect because he’s not a conservative, at least on the social front. Jindal is both an economic and social conservative.
OK, last comment on Jindal, I promise...
Palin, Jindal, and the other GOP Governors are meeting in Miami next week for their annual meeting. I predict that this will be the beginning of the Jindal introduction to the rest of the country — conservatives and folks out there are yearning for conservative leadership. I betcha that the media will talk up Jindal big-time next week. I’m confident that because he’s a social AND economic conservative, Jindal will connect with GOP voters. Welcome to 2012!

I have never been more disgusted with Fox News than I am right now, specifically because of KIRK CAMERON citing “ANONYMOUS SOURCES” at length.
I am going to waste my time right now emailing several personalities at Fox News to express my disgust and ask if citing anonymous sources as a top news item is now journalistic policy there now.

You can sing the praises of Jindal, but it is not necessary to attack or diminish Palin. The idea that one is past and one is the future really doesn’t advance your argument. Let them both compete and see what happens. Ultimately, the voters will decide.

"Sunday, October 5, 2008 The Facts about Governor Palin's Support of Divestment There is a lot of discussion in the media about Governor Palin's support of Sudan divestment. All of the questions revolve around when she supported the divestment legislation and her role in championing the cause. We began Alaska's divestment campaign, so we feel we are the most equipped to provide reliable information about the Governor's involvement. That information is offered here, in (very) brief, to set the speculation to rest -- not to discredit Governor Palin but to bring back into focus the real priority: ending the genocide in Darfur.
Governor Palin was aware of the divestment legislation as early as December 2007. We know. We met with her staff at the Governor's Anchorage Office to discuss Sinopec's role in the Alaska Gas Pipeline and to request her support for targeted divestment from Sudan. As late as mid-March 2008, the governor was not on board with the divestment legislation. Again, we know. A group member who wrote the Governor asking her to support divestment received a letter dated March 11, 2008, wherein the Governor again declined on the opportunity to support divestment. Most importantly, however, in April 2008, Governor Palin publicly announced her support of targeted divestment legislation.<
