Vanity: Fox News Says Palin Did Not Know Africa Was Continent, Not Country

Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.

Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).

They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.

I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)

Good recall! So, I guess she does know that Africa is a continent upon which there are different countries.

She should be the Chair of the RNC.
Really.

As William F Buckley famously said, “I’d rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University.”

Umm, I don’t think managing two crisis during two hurricanes is resume-building. That’s actually doing something — it’s called being a competent Governor.

Umm, I don’t think cutting taxes is resume-building. Or for that matter, instituting new ethics reforms to get rid of Louisiana’s past corrupt practices. Again, that’s called governing.

True, Jindal is not the most popular governor; but he’s the second most popular governor in the country. Do you honestly think that Palin can out-debate Obama? Please. We need someone who’s a smart (emphasis on smart) conservative who can out-debate the heck out of Obama.

Palin is the past; Jindal is the future.

"What is conservative about Sarah Palin?

Put up or shut up."

If you don't know, I can't even begin to help you.

I guess being Pro Life and actually going through with it knowing she had a DS kid isn’t conservative.

I guess I needed a sarcasm tag- though I didn’t think I did. I don’t for one minute believe the trash being spread about her now. We are talking about the media using unnamed sources for pete’s sake. The media often lies and even more often exaggerates and takes things out of context when it suits them. Many people have an agenda to get rid of Palin, in both parties and we should know by now what the media thinks of her. She is an outsider and they don’t want her to ever come back to their playground. That’s just how I see it.

I am so sick of these RINOs. Sarah is the furture of the Republican Party if they want there to BE a furture of the Republican Party. If they get rid of Sarah they get rid of ME. IT WAS MCCAINS FAULT.

Damaged goods my ass, newbie. She is the only reason McCain did as well as he did.

Obama spent 143 days in the Senate after an undistinguished career in the Illinois senate. He came with no real achievements, legislative or otherwise, no executive experience running anything larger than a senate staff, and and he is just a few years older than Palin. She has been a mayor and a governor as well as a business owner plus she has raised a family of 5 children. She had to defeat an incumbent Rep and a former Dem governor to win the governorship. The Chicago political machine greased the skids for Obama.

I noticed you joined at the end of August.

I agree there...I am just talking about delivering the ideas...that’s all.

America is NOT still center-right, if it ever was. Voters embraced a far Left candidate in historic numbers and were less than enthused about the quintessential center-right candidate. Conservatives are in the minority.

When you get that info will you please Ping or FReep mail me? Most of the people I know who voted for McCain did so because Sarah was on the ticket. They stated that without her they would not have voted.
I've great faith in her ability and her crossover appeal. Hope to see her again soon.
And as for anyone who thinks Obama as the incumbent will be a huge factor - what do you really think this country will look like in four years? People will be screaming for him to be thrown out of office.

“Palin has more ethics problems waiting for her at home besides the Wooten/Monegan problems she shadily skirted. Four ethics complaints on the docket as we speak. That’s just a fact so don’t bother flaming me because you don’t like the truth about your gal. The fact is, she comes with a lot of bad baggage.”

Yeah, I've read about those other “ethics” problems. And if you did a little research yourself before slamming her, you'd find they are more B.S. trumped up by her political enemies that have zero credibility.

“Another important point: Moderates and Independents don’t like Palin and without those two groups the party’s candidate can’t win as was seen yesterday.”

Screw the moderates and Independents. You can't win by dissing the base. Moving left to bring everyone into the “big tent” is exactly why the Republicans lost badly. You win by doing exactly what Reagan did, he moved the moderates and independents to the right. I don't buy the moderates and independents don't like her. The elites don't like her because she energizes the base. The rest fear her.

“Backing a losing proposition never makes sense. Doing it twice is insanity.” I guess you wouldn't have liked Reagan either. The way I see it, Sarah was a winning proposition, dragged down by McCain. McCain was a fool for buying into the “Cap and Trade” trap and actually said at one time he'd consider Algore for a cabinet position. Even if you buy into the “Global Warming” hype, it's idiotic to buy into the ruining of our economy in the foolish attempt to control the climate.

"And beware of the Romneybots, they’ll be here soon."

I supported Romney in the Colorado caucus. If he had anything to do with this, I will be back at the Caucus in 2012 to make sure he gets taken down. I don't really know about Palin's knowledge base. But I know she knows how to spell T-E-A-M, which is apparently beyond the capabilities of Mr. Madden. You have to wonder if Obama paid him off to make such bizarre remarks in the closing phase of a campaign. If he didn't believe in the candidate, his obligation was to immediately and quietly resign. Anything else is deeply dishonest. And While I am impressed with her, I am NOT impressed with her communications people. They are morons....or Obama moles.
