Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.
Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).
They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.
I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)

What exactly is Sarah supposed to have said, and in what context?
It could have a lot to do with feathering his nest (McPain) in the U.S. senate; someone the liberal 'rats will approach in order to get a consensus.
I'm a Romney guy, always felt McPain was a loose cannon pubbie ... nothing to date has changed my mind.
According to these unnamed critics, Palin didn't know which countries are members of NAFTA or that Africa is a continent and not a country! They say that she was ignorant of basic civics. She threw temper tantrums over negative media coverage and refused prep help from campaign aides for the Gibson and Couric interviews. They claim that they wanted to help her prep for these interviews, but she ignored them.
He claims that the fired aide who was rehired was Randy Schuenenman. (But other accounts told us that he was her closest advisor and he was the one who prepped her for the vp debate).
Cameron notes that Palin denies all of these stories. I saw the video of her denying them. She seems like a class act in her behavior there. I just don't get these stories. I find them disturbing in the extreme. Is this just campaign people throwing her under the bus because they have received so much criticism for mishandling her? Is this a cover your ass maneuver or is Palin really that awful?
If she were that awful, you'd think that it would out itself in some small way, but she was in front of tens of thousands of people working rope lines at rallies and we saw no flicker of temper tantrums or even a suggestion of a nasty personality. She always looked like such a happy warrior.
I hope Laura Ingraham has Cameron on her show to get to the bottom of these stories.
She gave an informal press conference today of which they're showing clips. She looks totally relaxed. She has thrown off all the handlers and looks remarkably likeable in everyway. She's such a class act. Take a look at this.
She seems to deflect speculation about 2012 by saying "I couldn't imagine running for national office in 2012" but that won't be held against her if she should decide later.
Meanwhile, Newsweek has the post election hit piece out on her with unnamed campaign aides claiming that she personally went on a spending spree as "Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast". Read the rest here
Her aides deny this, and I don't know what to make of it. Leaks are now coming out that McCain didn't like her after all. It's all very perplexing. She is no doubt being blamed for a lot. And perhaps this unnamed source stuff is the final revenge of the Palin-haters. After seeing how shameless these people were in skewing her record in Alaska, I don't know why I should trust them now. She just doesn't strike me as someone who would be a profligate spender with RNC money. And if she did, it strikes me as an example of needing clothes asap. When you're thrust on the national stage, you need to look the part. The media obsessed about Clinton's clothes, and Palin must have known they would do the same to her. Who knows. I am always disappointed to hear something that seems so contrary to everything we already know about a person.

Yes, Governor Palin waws the better half of the ticket. The Democrats crossed over and gave us McCain and now we have Hussein.
It’s not just Romney..it’s all of the “elitits”. I guess this little factoid has slipped many people’s minds but Obammy is a Harvard grad..and so is Romney. We never get anything but Harveys and yalies. Cowinkidink? I think not.
Problem is both Universites are infested with commies. They stick together and they are all in control of minds and money in lofty places.

I don’t care if Palin didn’t know Africa was a continent or a country. SHE was THE ONLY REASON McCain received 53 million votes. If Mitt’s supporters want to go this route, bring it on, I find it interesting that like the campaign in general, none of them had the balls to say it to her face. I saw only ONE conservative on the ticket...and it wasn’t the top spot. If Mitt thinks this is the way to start the campaign for 2012, the loud bang he just heard was my checkbook slamming shut. I sent money to the campaign because of one reason, to support the conservative candidate. Too bad she’s going back to Alaska.

If these anonymous aides are putting this kind of cr@p out you have to immediately call into question their character. This is nothing but backstabbing for personal gain so how could anyone trust anything these rats have to say. Anyone who believes this nonsensical gossip given the anonymous lowlife backstabbing sources has to be extremely dense and lacks any sense of sound judgement.
That this is already kicking up speaks volumes as to the threat Palin poses to the poseurs.
