Linda Lingle has placed the candidate's birth certificate under seal, and instructed the state's Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances.

Whoever is elected President is not subject to any background check. By virtue of the election, he has access to any and all information and documents, no matter how secret, of the US government. The FBI has no power to prevent this access.
Which is as it should be. If we the people elect someone to the Oval Office (no matter how bad a decision that might be), that is the only background check that matters.

I just called the Gov. office in Hawaii. The person who answered claimed that it is not “under seal” that it was always protected under the state constitution. I asked if the certificate had the name of the hospital where he was born. She said it probably didn’t and that hers did not. She claims only Obama or his decendents would have access to it. I said I thought birth certs were public records. She said Hawaii has its own rules. I brought up that Obama could have been born in Kenya and then weeks later had his birth registered here. I asked where was the proof from a hospital that he was born here. She claims he has a social security car which was obtained using a birth certificate. I said that still does not answer what hospital he was born at, who were the attending doctors and nurses. She concluded with “The governor takes Obama at his word that he is a US citizen, his word is good enough” I ended with “His grandmother said she was at his birth in KENYA. SOMETHING STINKS HERE!!!

No, but it does say that "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside..." If Obama was born in Hawaii then that's it.

Our local talk show host was talking about the bias in the media and significant decline in newspaper subscriptions (not all due to media bias imo but partly). Then he gave freerepublic, luciane and huffpost a plug.
Later he said "Obama is a US citizen". He has a US passport, served in the IL Senate, is in the US Senate, didn't mention any Indonesian passport.
You know, I'd drop this thing as a nonstarter if I hadn't read the details of the possibility he isn't and why in Berg's lawsuit plus the possibility that the one posted at KOS and factcheck may have been forged. On that, I'll admit that it was hard to follow the reasoning because it was so technical, so I'd like more experts weigh in on that. Silence. Not having standing doesn't address the question. What is so hard about producing a valid birth certificate so we can put this to rest?

No it doesn't. He was residing in the U.S. on a temporary status as a student. He wasn't a diplomat. He was subject to the jurisdiction of government authorities.

A thin reed, but even as a traveler the Dad was not fully subject to US jurisdiction. Besides that word “jurisdiction” must be read so that the original meaning of “natural born” is not weakened, for there was no intent in that amendment to change any of the requirements for Presidency, beyond making sure that ex-slaves and those born in the US yet of african ancestry were full citizens.

Biden wasn’t referring to Zero being tested in the Courts or by being disqualified but likely the Middle East heating up and more terrorist attacks. Biden went on to say Zero would be able to stand up to it unless the mind-numbed robots turned against him because his response would appear to be wrong.

She did not actually "seal" anything. She made his original vault BC off limits for everyone except those eligible to receive it.
But, here I go again, the COLB is still out there, along with the LOV, and if reporters had an ounce of intelligence (most don't), they would be asking for these documents, or make the case that all America wants to know is if he was born on August 4, 1961 in Hawaii.
That requires only a confirmation of what is already public record. But, the media is so-o-o-o stupid, that thought never entered their mind.
I wonder if we got together a petition that specifically demands the Governor to say, "Yea," or "Nay," tot he question of its existence.

There are moderates who vote for Obama, and see Biden as more of the same broken politics. Some of them would prefer McCain if Obama is out of play.
