A Pittsburgh police commander says a volunteer for the McCain campaign who reported being robbed and attacked near a bank ATM in Bloomfield has confessed to making up the story. Police say charges will be filed. More details to follow.
She’s an idiot. But anyone who would change their vote because of her lies is a moron anyway. Thank God she’s NOT from Pennsylvania.

Sigh...WHY do people do this? I think of the runaway bride, the girl in Wisconsin who drugged herself and laid in a ditch for days, Casey Anthony. These people are SICK. They waste so much time and energy of law enforcement; not to mention the heartache they cause their families.
Thankfully I don’t think this story gained much traction (or so I hope) and it can just go away now.

Why should he say that, when it isn't true, and it would make him sound like a complete idiot. Ethan Eilon, executive director of the College Republicans National Committee, told FOX News Todd was volunteering as a field representative through his organization and that she had taken a year off from her studies at Blinn College to work on the campaign. Elsewhere, Eilon has been quoted as saying that Todd had been working for the campaign in New York "for several months", before moving to work in Pennsylvania 2 weeks ago.
Fair enough. But it would have been a lot more useful to show the connection from the beginning.
And whoever she "once supported" doesn't mean that she was "a plant". She is obviously just an attention-seeking nutcase.
I would have asked for the same info had the situations been reversed.

Shley Todd is a liar and attention whore, but she isn’t a killer. Susan Smith murdered two little boys and then lied about their whereabouts for days afterward. Not quite the same thing and not Time worthy.
That is one of the most ignorant and foolish comments that I have ever read.
Does anyone believe for a second that McCain told this young woman to do this? Whatever her motivation, her actions are her own. If the vermin in the media try to paint McCain and McCain supporters with the actions of a misguided young woman, then we need to go Donkey Kong on them.
