There are other threads here that point out some of the disappointments of this town hall debate.
There are other threads that denounce Senator John McCain along with Barack Obama.
There are other threads that provide an outlet to cry and declare defeat.
Well, Free Republic Folk, I for one, am NOT willing to concede. I am not willing to see just the bad without seeing the good. I am not willing to give ONE inch to that terrorist loving, slim associating, undeserving domestic thug while we still have an honorable man who gave real truth, real character and real leadership this evening.
I know many of you were disappointed with this town hall debate.
However, I know many of you saw the GOOD as well.
Do NOT use this thread to declare a loss to John McCain's campaign. There are other threads if you want to do that.
Use this thread to share the memorable moments you noticed or experienced from this debate!
Whether it is a memorable moment you experienced from something John McCain said or a jab you noticed that hurt Barack Obama, share it here!
This is the thread to remember what we have to choose from: John McCain or Barack Obama.
The Stare down look from Obama was something to remember. I wanted to slap him in the face!! This guy is a PUNK! AN MTV PUNK!
That is covered by the so-called rescue plan. Not an extra $300 billion. And it applies only to homeowners who were creditworthy at the time of purchase, not 100%LTV or higher. And not second-mortgages. And not home-equity loans. This is meant to prop up the housing industry. And that is needed. Too many homes in my neighborhood are sitting stagnant on the market in San Antonio, grass knee-high and vacant - because the owners need enough price to pay off their mortgages, and banks are no longer allowing short-sales.
Opps, just saw my last post.
When I said I started Free Republic during Bill Clinton’s presidency, I didn’t mean I STARTED Free Republic.
I did not try to pull an “Al-Gore-I-Invented-The-Internet Moment” there! hahahaha!
I just started (as in registered AS A MEMBER) and STARTED Free Republic back at that “memorable” time.
Send it to John McCain. Thank the man for all his hard work to win this election like he's been nominated to do. Yeah, go ahead and tell me how hard he's trying. "My Friends"
After 5 minutes the dopes changed channel.
You know, you reminded me of another memorable moment for me from the debate.
There was a time when Senator McCain was speaking about something very serious... war, I believe, and apparently Obama did not want to appear to agree, so he sat there behind Senator McCain with a HUGE (stupid) grin on his face.
Now, whether Obama wanted to make a point or not by grinning from ear to ear when an honorable war veteran speaks of war, I don’t think sitting there with a big stupid smile all over your face when someone is talking about war and loss of lives is very smart.
That body language told me Junior Senator Obama does not honor our military or the sacrifices they make. If he did, he would never have been laughing back there during that conversation.
My other favorite moment was when Obama wanted to invade Pakistan! McCain nailed this unsuccessfully equivocating buffoon for this serious lapse in judgement. I hope other Americans saw this contrast between an empty suit clearly unqualified to be president and a tested adult.
You can call him whatever you want to. Sarah used the phrase “white flag of surrender” in the Vice-Presidential debate.
Surrender is definitely there for Obamanation. He doesn’t know what winning a war is really like. (There are so many details behind the frontlines. It would make Obamanation’s head spin.
You’re right, the Pakistan issue was a wonderful portrait of how little Obama knows about foreign affairs and military action.
Obama’s irresponsible and naive remarks on Pakistan really contrasted with John McCain’s noble and extraordinary military and foreign affairs insight there.
I love when McCain said, “That One” and pointed at Obama.
The reality is that the federal government is going to spend more-—in fact, whatever it takes-—in the next years to reverse the effects of the Toxic Twins.
Is that a terrible situation to be in? Yes. But it is what it is.
That said, I think it’s worth considering whether to funnel some of this money to “unfreeze the credit” of the consumers who are not deadbeats and who will use the money and financial flexibility in a way that helps the overall economy.
Restructuring a mortgage with a balance of $500K on a house that is now worth only $300K through no fault of the homeowner who is still throwing good money after bad by continuing to pay the $500K mortgage rather than walking away, seems to me, has a very different economic and moral impact than buying the paper of a deadbeat who put no money down, made very few payments, and walked away.
For one thing, all the people making payments on upside-down mortgages right now have, in effect, lost every penny of their downpayment unless and until decades from now the real estate market recovers on its own.
The subprime borrower loses NOTHING in any of this. Oh, sure, there’s the sob story that they “lost their home.” I call BS on that most of the time. They had to move to a different abode, that’s it. When you don’t even have a penny in the house, how is that different emotionally from being evicted from a rental apartment?
But the people who make this economy work, those who put tens of thousands of dollars down, or more so as to be “wise” and not pay PMI,on their home purchases have at this moment lost every single penny of that cash because of FANNIE and FREDDIE and the Rats’ push for subprime loans.
This loss was not caused by normal market forces-—so it’s not “pay your money and take your chances.” It was directly and indisputably caused by the U.S. GOVERNMENT through the DEMOCRAT party.
They caused, maybe they should fix it.
Because 95% of the press and all of the anchormen are DNC spokesmen. You will never get someone from FOX because their partisan.
Completely bogus that the Black man asks about the Fannie Mae crisis. No way was McCain going to point out that Obamma was a crook to one of his Black supporters. Loved the audience full of Black “undecideds”.
Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops
LOL.....Jim?.....Did you change your name?:)
Old, but apt.
