The screen icon from the 1960s, who now heads an animal rights foundation, went on to assail Gov Palin for supporting Arctic oil exploration that could jeopardise delicate animal habitats and for dismissing measures to protect polar bears. I'll bet she cannot tell anyone how many polar bears were killed as a result of oil extraction operations, yet makes this spurious claim.
There are about 5 times as many polar bears now as there were the last time she was relevant.
