“Any airplane hauling ‘five American Generals’ would fly at normal altitudes and routes.”

What if they were *secret* generals dispatched from the Shadow World by Lord Cheney to bring death to the muslim hordes?

Maybe the Iranians are lying about “flying under the radar”?

How about -- they were lying about the whole thing.

Any airplane flying in Iraq and not under the ID and control of the Weapons Director was subject to being shot down by American aircraft.

The whole thing is BS.

That was my initial reaction but I await news that within the “one day detention” they called Bambi and he asked that they release the detainees.

Looks like you're right.

Pentagon denies report U.S. plane landed in Iran
Tue Oct 7, 2008 9:34am EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon denied on Tuesday an Iranian news report that a U.S. military aircraft had violated Iranian territory and had been forced to land in Iran, saying all American planes were accounted for.

"All aircraft in the region are accounted for and we have no reports of any aircraft landing in Iran," Lt. Col. Patrick Ryder told reporters.

"I haven't heard anything like that," said Pentagon Bryan Whitman.

The Iran news agency reported earlier that a U.S. warplane had violated Iranian territory and had been forced to land in Iran.

Has that thing got weapons slung under the wings? Those look like missiles.

The Coast Guard does have some Falcon 20s (as somebody posted upthread) fitted for SAR and drug interdiction, but they’re unarmed, and I can’t find any other information indicating the Dassault Falcon is in service with any other branch of the US military. Now why would a Coast Guard surveillance aircraft be in Turkey hauling “senior generals” to Trashcanistan? This doesn’t pass the BS test.

Thanks. I haven't had much time this morning to check up on it.

Mega bump on point number two. That seems to be one of the pillars of the regime.

"I'm sure you realize that most people don't remember..."

I do.

After the crew was released without the plane, I was working mid-shift Gulf of Mexico traffic at JAX center. An Air China 747 cargo flight (unscheduled at the time, kinda rare to see them) SEA-MIA checked on..."JAX, Dragonair 442 with you at 410."

I replied "Dragonair 442 roger, we want our airplane back."

Silence for a while, then "Say again, JAX?"

"Dragonair 442 roger, we want our damned airplane back."

Some more silence, then "Oh no, JAX, we're the GOOD China - Taiwan."

"Well, then, welcome aboard - cleared direct MIA."

We all shared some comments, crew turned out to be Yanks flying for Air China on contract, so I called 'em Flying Tiger 442 for rest of conversation.

I thought the Pentagon has stated all our planes are accounted for? None were forced down?

Latest word I'm getting is that it wasn't a US plane after all, it was Hungarian, no US personnel on board.

I’m thinking that Jimmy Carter’s not President anymore, so the Iranians might want to watch their mincing little steps...

"How does one of our warplanes be forced to land anywhere, was Obama flying it?"

"probably defecting after reading the polls and thinking Obama is going to win..."

No need for that:
if Obama were to win, the mullahs would just come here.

FOX reporting the same now via Amy Kellog in Tehran- Hungarian aid plane- no big deal. So how did it get from that to US Warplane held in Iran? Unbelievable reporting- starting with Reuters and/or AP?
