I think that it was a Falcon not a Fighting Falcon. A Falcon VIP transport. The pic below is of a civil version.

Yes, as was stated earlier, it is like a Lear jet similar to the one Rush has. It is a passenger plane used by the AF for VIP travel.

The ChiComs had good cause to stick a thumb in our eye after their embassy was bombed during Clinton’s illegal war of aggression against Serbia.

We’re not at war with Iran and military pilots follow orders. If there’s no standing order to engage Iranian planes and the pilot was at fault he has no choice but to land.

you obviously do not “get” the sarcasm of attributing all campaign twists to Rove and using Patton’s quote, as many other freepers do

But thanks anyway for taking time at bat

From BBC News...

US plane 'forced to land in Iran'
Breaking News

A US plane has been forced to land in Iran after violating Iranian territory, the Iranian semi-official Fars news agency has reported.

It said the Falcon aircraft entered Iranian airspace from Turkey, flying at low altitude to avoid radar.

The agency said the plane was detected by Iranian fighter jets, which forced it to land at an undisclosed airport.

Passengers included five senior American generals and three civilians, the report said.

The agency said the group was interrogated at the airport and then allowed to leave after it was realised they had entered unintentionally.

More details to follow.

Well the south side of Chicago
Is the baddest part of town
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of a man named Leroy Brown
You see Leroy he meant trouble
You see he stand about 6 foot 4
All the downtown ladies called
him “treetop lover”
All the men just call him Sir.

You can tell how badly the Iranians want Obama as the US President by how fast they released the hostages!

I thought she said 5 people?

Anyway, if the plane was “forced down” it was likely unarmed as was the Navy plane China forced down.

If there was more than two people, it wasn’t an F-16.

If there were 5 people it could have been a C-130 (typically they have about 5 crew members)

Either way the crew “was released”.... So, was the plane?

Questions, questions.

Iran says U.S. plane violated its territory

TEHRAN (Reuters) - An Iranian news agency said on Tuesday that a U.S. military aircraft had violated Iranian territory unintentionally and had been forced to land in Iran.

The semi-official Fars News Agency did not say when the incident happened.

It said five senior U.S. military officials had been interrogated at an Iranian airport and released a day later after it became clear the U.S. plane had not entered intentionally.

Good that the crew was released. Did they keep the plane?
