Barack was the very junior senator on the defensive the entire evening.
After John McCain eloquently (and without notes) discussed the bracelet he wears given to him by the mom of a dead Iraq war vet.
Trying to prove his own support for the troops, Obama chimed in with a pathetic "I've got a bracelet, too," as he looked down at his notes to read the name of the soldier.
LOL..:)
he did show his bracelet very clearly
His response was childish and embarrassing for him. Good for us however.
*LOL* Love the poster. Oh gosh I’m so wired I cannot sleep :) Hubby made me turn off the television so he could sleep I had to sneak my laptop in. Who can sleep after tonight. I’m so nervous about the polls though.
The Game changer would have been if McCain asked Barak Obama if he could tell us how many troops constituted a “Brigade” when Barak said he would increase the forces in Afghanistan by 2 “Brigades”
I can guarantee all of you that Barak would not have been able to answer that question and this race would be over
My HDTV is too expensive to risk watching that POS for more than a few seconds at a time......
Unfortunately - even at my very advanced age, I STILL have anger management issues....
He was wearing it... It was small enough that his pals at DU would not condemn him for it :-)
Lawrence “LYING LIAR” just admitted that Jim Lehrer listened to O'Donnell's suggestion that JL get the candidates to loosen up by encouraging them to look at each other. Lawrence O'Donnell wrote the last episode of the West Wing, with a debate, and the candidates looked at each. JL actually took O'Donnell's advice which is pathetic and partisan in that the only reason Obama continued to look at McCain was to get a negative reaction from McCain.
Hollywood lefties don't know how to handle the real deal like John McCain. They tried to throw John McCain off by having him look at Obama and lose his temper.
Jim Lehrer taking suggestions from Lawrence O'Donnell needs to be blasted and ridiculed everywhere.
The economy matters somewhat; foreign policy matters somewhat; The obvious hypocrisy about the bracelet is monumental, a dealbreaker. Checkmate.
When the third hanging-fastball went by McCain without him even taking a swing, I realized how bad it was.
Somehow I knew the phony, lying poseur would....
He's so damned predictable.....and shallow.
McCain's staff should have prompted McCain to check for the lapel pin and ask Obama WHY he reversed his position on wearing the Flag and would he in future show proper respect for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Obama is an egotistical child abeit cunning.
His hair is so short. I wonder if he really does have the really curly hair of many African Americans or if it is actually straight and he doesn’t want to show it. I know you see earlier pictures of him with the afro but they may be photo cropped.
Lawyer Up! (look at my fresh out of the box tagline!)
We are screwed. Bob Dole did this same strategy of coming out like the civilized politician and never really went on the attack against clinton. Just have to face it, we have an obama presidency coming up. Thanks W for the next 4-8 years of being bent over and F*cked. All the polls are suggesting that Obama won this first debate, even the conservative right leaning polls. McCain took too long to heat up and when he did it was too little too late. First impressions are everything. F*ck!!!!
Casualty bracelets are meaningless unless you wear them.
Why did he have to look at his notes? If he were honest about having one, hed be wearing it.
Such unwashed Bullshit...
The whole thing about the bracelet needs to be on utube. Is it yet?
“Youre obviously underestimating the stupidity of the American sheeple. I hope youre right...but Im pooping my pants right now”
well, just change your shorts...I pray we’ll be alright. I’m looking forward to the Palin/Biden debate and hope Biden (aka ‘the gaffe’ master) gives big that night.
God had such a hand in the formation of our country, I sure he doesn’t let us screw it up too badly with this election.
