John McCain announced that he will suspend his presidential campaign on Thursday to return to Washington to help with bailout negotiations. He urged his opponent Barack Obama to do the same.
The Arizona senator also asked the Presidential Debate Commission to postpone Fridays scheduled debate with Obama so that he can work on the financial crisis bailout plan now on Capitol Hill.
America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen, McCain said.
Wow! Talk about your RAT-fight! Obama trying to push Dingy Harry aside to lead on this...
This is sweet!
I hope so also.
Put it this way: is Obama happy McCain made this move, or did it just throw him off track?
I say the latter.
It wouldn’t have been little o’s idea....because he doesn’t want to suspend his campaign.
DU folks are pitiful.
Whomever came up with the idea for this brilliant tactic is a political genius!
“The solution is to politically target those people responsible and get rid of them.”
Should read :
The solution is to legally target those people responsible and arrest them..
If you follow CatOwners posts they are always something negative about McCain or his low poll numbers. I can’t figure someone who never finds a positive thing in McCain’s campaign. He tried to put his country first as he did in Vietnam—for better or worse in winning —I admire that.
We have to remember that it doesn’t matter what the media thinks or what they say. It also doesn’t matter if Obama now says it was his idea first. The American people saw McCain step out first and will preceive him as a leader who put “Country First”. Perception is Reality.
[Obama contacted McCain FIRST at 8:30 this morning to issue a joint statement.
When this gets out, people will see Obama taking the high ground, and McCain making a slick political move.]
Why? That just re-enforces one of Obama’s negatives and one of McCain’s positives. McCain is a doer, Obama is a talker!
Reminder...Obama rejected McCain's call for bipartisanship reform of Fannie and Freddie in 2006....As Gov. Palin mentions in nearly every speech, Obama has NEVER reached across the aisle to reform anything! Her presentation at the Villages was brilliant, best one yet (that's why you won't ever see it on driveby media sources). Highly recommend viewing on utube.
Here Comes Teddy!! (TR)
Thats true, but I havent seen Hussein surging anywhere. Any poll with a 1-4% difference is a win for McCain. I mean if the polls are showing Obama in the lead, I mean..
DEBATE ON THE ECONOMY!!! OBAMA WONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!
HE HAS BEEN STUDYING FORIEGN POLICY!
HE WONT KNOW THE LINES!!!!
DEBATE ON THE ECONOMY!!!! WE MUST PUSH FOR THIS!!!
If he is up in the polls as some have said, he sure won't be now. And if the polls are all wrong, which many have said is the case, he just dug a deeper hole to get himself out of.
Either way, McCain just rolled the dice and came up with another brilliant move. Hopefully people will finally wake up and see that McCain is an actual leader and that Obama is just playing politics.

Lol, I’d watch that debate!
Whomever came up with the idea for this brilliant tactic is a political genius!”
Yes, and it fits right in with their theme “Country First”. McCain will look like the hero who is going to come to the rescue and save our economy. I think he can pull it off.
Yeah, McCain is going to ride into Washington and arm twist Republicans into a bad deal. The only two decisions McCain has made correctly is on the Surge and on Palin. On everything else he’s been a disaster. Leiberman is on Fox now talking about convincing Republicans to agree with the Democrats and McCain is the one to do it. Good grief.
