John McCain announced that he will suspend his presidential campaign on Thursday to return to Washington to help with bailout negotiations. He urged his opponent Barack Obama to do the same.
The Arizona senator also asked the Presidential Debate Commission to postpone Fridays scheduled debate with Obama so that he can work on the financial crisis bailout plan now on Capitol Hill.
America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen, McCain said.
A lot of us took timeouts because of the April 07 purge. In addition, I put my opinion on how many were treated on my home page for any one to look at (and its still up there). In any event we don't need to revisit that now; much more is at stake.
He cares about power and mecca.

There will be debates, and I expect that the debate on Friday will proceed. McCain has now so successfully lowered expectations for his own performance (”he’s afraid”) that he stands to gain that way as well.
Further: McCain knows what Bush is going to say tonight. BO doesn’t.
Even if you cynically assume that Mac is doing this as a political ploy and not out of statesmanship, then you must admit that it’s a good hedge-better if the markets crash in the next few days; he can say “I told you so, and Senator Obama wouldn’t listen.”
As for those panicked about a McCain “panic,” relax. 24 hours is a lifetime in politics.
This could be looked upon next week as a brilliant political decision. At worst, it will be forgotten entirely. The debate narrative will take over.
Obama is now put in the situation where if he comes to DC it will appear he is following McCains lead.
Still I hope McCain doesn’t push for the bailout but free market solutions.
seriously, anyone thinking that this shows weakness on McCain’s part is clueless. it is a bold move, totally in keeping with his style. and the thought that he is afraid of ANYTHING about Obams is laughable.
Where do you think the money comes from to pay those that are employed right now?
The soup line in that picture did not form overnight after the crash of 1929.
Even if one does not understand economics, everyone should understand that sh!t rolls downhill.
You are so right! I don’t think Obama wants to be there because then everyone can see him for the empty suit he truly is and why he should be sent packing in November back to the Senate.
Mega dittos!!
“McCain just called and Obama didnt show up.”
OUCH!
There better be a vote this week or come Monday all goes south!
I don't want them to pass this bailout....I appreciate having someone who is a statesman in DC looking out for me.....
lets attach your military retirement check because the govt has no money and we'll see you change your tune....
Good'n! OH, and Zerobama doesn't have to make those claims...that's CNN's odd job! Doing it as I write...getting the t-shirt! It's almost laughable (if it weren't so toxic)
When there is a fire the firemen leave the puss in the tree and actually go to the fire to put it out. The couple of times they tried calling in their support for putting out a fire they lost their jobs.
I agree and postponing the debates will only throw the Obamination off his game. Brilliant!
And when the Debate FINALLY rolls around, and Obama starts Pontificating about the Economy, John Can Interrupt him saying, “YOU WEREN’T THERE, How the hell do you know!”
Thank you... it has been awhile... still... I do not smell any ozone.

IF Barry Soetero actually said that, it will destroy whats left of any of his credibility...
As much as I would like to see it, Obama would not in a million years accept a debate with the Palinator. If she even held her own against him, he would be toast.
