The troubled mortgage finance giant announces restructuring of organization with more direct reports to CEO.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Mortgage finance giant Fannie Mae, taken over by the government earlier this month, announced Friday the resignations of four senior executives and said it was restructuring its organization.

The company, the biggest buyer and guarantor of home loans in the country, and its sibling Freddie Mac (FRE, Fortune 500) were taken over on Sept. 7 in a rescue plan that eventually could require the Treasury Department to put up as much as $100 billion for each of them over time if needed to keep them afloat as mortgage losses mount.

I despise David Gregory - I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more smug SOB on TV, and that’s saying something.

(Well, maybe O’Reilly: “But enough about me - what did you think of my interview with _____?”)

She apparently is an expert in advising “clients on internal investigations.” No wonder they got away with raking out FNMA for so long. She no doubt advised Frank to block any investigations called for by the White House and the Senate via Bush and McCain. This is only going to get bigger.

McCain said he would name names
I like what he says. "We will name names and make them famous"!

This is a good start. But much more needs to be done.

She had absolutely NO financial background...

To be fair, she was General Counsel and may have been qualified for the job. Or as qualified as the rest. If you took all the political hacks out of D.C. it would be a ghost town.

No, not Army Intelligence, but JAG Corps (lawyer).

Thanks. Hard for me to tell from the description.

David Gregory is married... to a Woman?

It is indeed a strange world.

I want to see a perp walk!

I mentioned the same to my son tis morning. The bailouts are one thing. I don't like them, but my voice means next to nothing, and the very real threat of a total banking meltdown leads me to just 'shut up and take it.'

That said, I want to see some perps walk! I want to see somebody sent away for something! All this crap will go down a lot better if I have the satisfaction of seeing somebody swing for this mess.

A Juris Doctor in her position certainly needed a financial degree also, and she had none. It’s pretty obvious no whistle blower existed as the ship was going down for years. The lending schemes sanctioned by the politicians and justified by this management were ridiculously irresponsible, and the taxpayers should sue all of these officers for mismanagement. Seeing as she was adept at advising clients on how to deal with internal investigations, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn she played a role in blocking a few external ones as well.

Why would they want to do that? And who are the losers to stop recycling other losers?

I guess she decided that she’d ridden the horse as far as it would go.

Where is Andrew Cuomo on this??? He hounded the former CEO of AIG, Greenberg, who finally stepped down and had NOTHING prosecuted against him. But these folks?? Jim Johnson, Franklin Raines and now this woman? Democrats all, they think the Federal Government is their personal piggy bank. We all know if they were Republicans they would be hanged in the middle of Wall Street.

Yup! Just another case of double standards. DemocRATS aren’t treated the way Republicans are. When DemocRATS swindle and steal money, the “media” explains it away as being just another case of honest, “messy” and “sloppy” accounting. I’m getting pretty tired of it.

WELL here it is folks ,They Have Been extorting money from banks and therefore pressuring them to make these bad loans . They were expressley given this invitation By the Clinton Administration to go into these Banks and Request records on how many loans they were making to Minorities and if there were not enough they would be labeled as Racists ,wow easy money no wonder Obama was working for ACORN EASY MONEY.
