Michelle Obama: Don't Vote (for Sarah Palin) Because She's Cute

Michelle Obama says voters need to decide this election by examining the issues, not because they like a candidate or think ``she's cute.''

Obama spoke in Charlotte on Thursday morning at a women's round-table on economic issues. The crowd roared at her remark disparaging voters who might cast a ballot because of a woman's looks, a clear jab at Republican vice presidential pick Sarah Palin.

Obama tried to clarify her remark with a smile, saying she was talking about herself.

Did anyone watch that woman on with OReilly last night who had written a book something about Success-what to do and say etc to acheive success...she was trashing Palin’s hairdo! Did you see her hair? Like a really bad Farrah Fawcet look but straggily and thin and she’s trashing Palin’s hair!!

Exactly. More than that, though, is the overall lack of appropriateness of The One and his family. Last night I watched the repeat of Barbara Walters’ royal family interview, all two hours of it. A significant segment related to the Queen’s visit to the U.S. a year or two ago, and luncheons/dinners at the White House with George and Laura Bush and dignitaries from around the world.

I thought about how gracious the Bushes were, and what a great job Laura did as hostess, so classy, so “appropriate” at all times.

The very idea of those south Chicago poseurs inhabiting the White House made me cringe. It just can’t happen — we can’t allow this pretender and his bitter nasty wife to reside in the White House, not now, not ever.

Don’t vote for Palin because she’s cute, vote for her because she’s better than the rest. Being cute is just bonus.

Obama said her husband, Democratic hopeful Barack Obama, is the only candidate to deal with women's issues. She particularly focused on equal pay, health care, affordable college and recruiting new teachers.

Sarah took the first question at the townhall meeting in Michigan last night. It was from a PUMA, who first gave a little speech about why she and many other Hillary supporters are switching to McCain/Palin. She wanted to know about women's empowerment and Sarah answered by talking about how she learned healthy completion, teamwork and winning from her high school days. Sarah Palin is Brilliant. Educated. Sharp. A loving Wife. A loving mother. Was a Mayor and a Govenor. Can do many things and on top of it all she IS cute. That’s part of what is upsetting everyone. Beauty and Brains!
