Sound not synchronized on Palin Gibson interview?
Posted on 09/11/2008 3:35:40 PM PDT by KayEyeDoubleDee
Is it just my local cable tv company, or is the ABC sound not synchronized with the lip movements?
If this is national, it's really unforgivable.

Maybe I’m mistaken, but isn’t the “Bush Doctrine” a media created term?
To: khenrich
Hey, I'm a lowly stay-at-home mom and I can tell you "something" about the Bush Doctrine.
Pre-emptive war, if deemed necessary
Taking war to countries where terrorists are harbored
spread democracy
That's a very simple version, obviously.
I think you guys need to start thinking with your big head, instead of your little head. I realize she's your ultimate fantasy - a good looking woman who like sports, likes to hunt, etc., but do you honestly think she is ready for prime time?
To: thefrankbaum
She's doing some double-talk - Gibson asked about the "Bush Doctrine" and she didn't seem quite sure what it was, she was asked about her national defense credentials, and she spun into an energy discussion. Gibson agreed that energy is important, but then said there is more to defense than just energy - she stuck with her energy bit. I love her to death, but it seems a little scattered.
Disagree.
Gibson first tossed it out as a generality to try and trip her up - she fired back in order to get him to define and specify. She did very well in dodging a stunt.

Bingo... none of these people could have done as well. Ronnie is looking down on her and is proud of how she handled this interview... poised... confident.... assured... firm and decisive... everything that barry is NOT!

Ditto.. The Bush Doctrine is a made-up talking point by DC think tanks. Only DC-insiders like Biden and Gibson know about the Bush doctine.
She handled it well.

do you think they spliced her answers and doctored the interview? --
I don't think so. The staging was biased, the editing was sloppy, but I don't think the editing resulted in misrepresenting the questions or answers.

I take it you didn’t hear her original answer to the question before Charlie corrected her with his version of the Bush Doctrine. She answered his version really.

Of course they did. You know we weren’t always getting the full answer in there. The McCain camp had better be there with their own cameras to catch these jerks in their malign process. Gibson did himself and the media no favors in his demeanor and interrogation like questioning that they have NEVER subjected Obama to. Amazing they are treating a VP nominee like this. Where were the questions about John Edwards ‘experience’ back in 2004?

Charlie, you're no William F. Buckley. Charlie's whole brain isn't even Buckley's Medulla Oblongata.

I am very happy to hear there was a close up of her face. I saw that first long shot set up and honestly thought it looked like amateur hour, UNLESS they were intentionally trying to make her look subordinate and distant and the placement of Charlie was dominant and open. It was done intentionally.
A sit down interview is one of the few controllable shot placements and constructions out there.

He comes across as a punk. All I can think of is Stephanoupolus helping out Obama, when he stated “his Muslim faith.” “you mean your Christian faith.” That is the MSM.

Don't be... she made him define it and then answered his question in a way to leave no further attack. The left has put other connotations to what is defined as the Bush Doctrine. People need to think as hard a Palin does to understand.

Charlie, you're no William F. Buckley. OK, I take it back that he's like no part of William F. Buckley, Jr: He might be the "F".

It is a media coined term and how about the snide way in which Gibson ‘enlightened’ her! I don’t find not knowing the coined term “Bush Doctrine” as being disqualified for the vice presidency.

To un depress you and encourage you ( that was their ABC/MSM agenda to do .. to change your mind about her ) .. this will not effect the scorned women's vote at all ... nor will it change my mind about her... we all have our bad days .. unlike Obama's HUGE gaffes... you need to put it in perspective.
Nor will this change the minds of the swing voters or independents after the bad weeks that Obama had.
Her seemingly flaws in this interview are not earth shattering... the only big trip up was her answer to the Bush doctrine question... and she should have said that when John and I get to Washington we will make our own doctrine Charley.
