Report: Palin Asked Rick Warren For Advice
Posted by Vaughn Ververs| Comments5
GOP VP nominee Sarah Palin called influential pastor Rick Warren earlier this week to ask for advice on how to handle the criticism that has come her way, The Hill reports.
In a California radio interview, Warren said that Palin had called him to seek help in dealing with the unfair, unjust attacks she said she believes had been launched at her since being tapped as John McCains running mate. Warren recounted the conversation, saying he responded by saying, the question I asked her was 'how can I pray for you?'"
Warren said Palin asked him to send her some bible verses on how do you deal with the unfair, unjust attacks and the mean-spirited criticism that comes in."
I agree. Warren should have been trained about confidentiality.
Why in the world would a “pastor” divulge the contents of a private conversation with someone seeking guidance??
Someone needs to get this amateur on phone a straighten him out if true.
What an unethical breach of trust!!!!
Hopefully the last time Sarah calls this idiot.
It says: See BS
You are right. I have to admit that after so many years I am still unable to completely break the habit of assuming what I read is true and reacting to it. I had hoped I had finally gotten this under control but maybe not. This story could easily be a fabrication as are seemingly about 80% of the stories swirling around.
Rick, keep your mouth shut...
Frankly, I’m a Christian, and I wouldn’t ask Rick Warren the time of day.
Exactly- it would seem their coversation would be priveleged unless she gave instructions otherwise. If she didn’t, he’s a media clown like the rest.
Well CBS does have a copy of a memo.....
..I don’t believe it
Psalm 46:10 (King James Version)
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
No, it doesn't.....I get the feeling that Rick Warren is striving to be the Dr. Phil of religion.
She would be better served by seeking the advice of a bible believing follower of the Christ.

This is beyond poor taste IMO and I'm angry. It's as much a breach of pastor confidentially as a priest and someone in the confessional. Unfortunately she has to learn the hard way that even some of clergy will divulge personal conversations for their own enhancement. I hope Warren's congregation gives him the message that requests for help and prayer from anyone, no matter their status, remain confidential.
Faxed in from Kinkos no doubt.
I know, but if you follow the link - it goes to a CBS website.
Oh ... that’s right ... B.S.
Whoa. That is like Seinfeld’s “Rabbi Glickman,” who is constantly telling what is told to him in confidence to other people, and in the end tells George’s secrets to the viewers on his cable access religious show.
I was thinking the same thing...
Actually, I tend to think that the caller might have been someone other than Mrs. Palin, and that the whole thing is a setup.
No kidding! What happened to confidentiality?
I just emailed Saddleback church and asked if this report is true and when Warren made the comments and on which radio station. I wonder if I'll get a reply. If so, I'll let y'all know.
