The daughter of Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.) was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar.

Ashley Blazer Biden, 21, of Wilmington, Del., was with a group of people on a North Side street where several bars are located when someone else threw a bottle at an officer, police said.

The NYT ran three front page articles, hit pieces against Palin. This goes much deeper then the lunatics at Daily KOS.

Palin's position is strong, but being weakened under these attacks. A strong speech from her tonight will shut up her attackers.

I heard it said on FOX last night that she's writing her own speech and impressing the speech writers. I heard her on a special about Anwar, and she was very convincing. Her arguments were logical and fresh, some I had never even considered before. She spoke as an Alaskan, asking for the God given right to develop their own land so they won't have to depend on the lower states for sustenance.

I am also in agreement with the opinion I have seen expressed by others here, that being the left knows that this VP selection, if it catches fire, has the potential to turn this election away from them. They are scared and worried, and it is showing.

The only “official” response from the campaign, the RNC or any Republican official should be that this is a family matter.

On that I agree, but there are ways of bringing it up w/o attacking her directly, such as:

"The attacks against Sarah's children fall beyond the pale and should be off limits. Just as we have not discussed the arrests of our opponents children, they should not talk about our children."

BIDEN'S SON IN FUND SUIT By KAJA WHITEHOUSE, NY POST, 8/31/08

EXCERPT Hedge fund executive Hunter Biden, 38-year-old son of Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden is caught up in several lawsuits regarding the acquisition and operation of Paradigm Companies, an investment firm that operates a fund of funds - a hedge fund that invests in other hedge funds. Biden also appears to be feuding with partner James Park, the son-in-law of the Rev. Sun Myoung Moon, Court papers show.

Biden, also a Washington lobbyist, took control of Paradigm Aug 2006 and as, president briefly - was paid $1.2 million a year despite no experience.

Months later, Anthony Lotito, a consultant, sued Biden, James Biden, his uncle, and paradigm for allegedly cheating Lotito. Biden was also sued by a former Paradigm executive over alleged unpaid compensation.

Biden's counter-claim against Lotito, charged the consultant with failing to inform him that Park, a Paradigm founder and chief investment officer, "used illegal substances," and was an "absentee manager," it is alleged in court papers.

Biden also claimed he and his uncle only agreed to work with Park after "[Park] completed rehab." Biden never provided any proof, and the counter-claim was dismissed.
