Bristol Palin's pregnancy is a "damaging revelation " that has caused Sarah Palin's image to "suffer." Says who? Says ABC News, in an article by Rick Klein and Jennifer Parker.
In Palin Pregnancy Rocks Political World, Klein and Parker report reaction from a variety of Republican and traditional-values sources. Every one, from Dr. James Dobson to Grover Norquist to Chuck Donovan of the Family Research Council to a pro-life delegate to the GOP convention who said "the fact that her daughter's keeping it and marrying the father is wonderful," had a positive reaction.
But what do they know? Declare Klein and Parker emphasis added]:
Palin's image may suffer further if more damaging revelations come out in the coming days and weeks.

Well, March of 2008 in Alaska. Still quite dark. Sometimes a hint of spring.
Please.
There is the right answer. Mind your own business and tend to your own garden.
Sushiman:
“Mr. Fink” = me, governsleast. Please go back and read the NewsBusters article. I was CRITICIZING the theme of the ABC article, written by Rick Klein and Jennifer Parker. Please read the final sentences I wrote:
“Bristol Palin is keeping the baby and marrying the father. Shouldn’t we be celebrating those choices and the mother who instilled the values they reflect?”
BPL,
It won't be their jaws that let go on election night it will be something else.
They may need this....
Yeah, I can imagine the context:
"Ewwwww - BREEDERS!"
Not by me. But yeah, you're probably right.
I was thinking of starting a thread (but decided not to) that asks the question: "When Do You Think We Might Actually Begin To Discuss The Issues?"
What we're seeing now is nothing more than a daily episode of "American Idol", and the prize is the Presidency.
What ever happened to the Social Security crisis, our massive deficit, the porous borders or the fact that we're funding terrorists with all the imported oil?
There's about 2 months until the election - do you think we're likely to see another debate? I don't mean to sound picky, but our futures, and our children's and grandchildrens futures, are riding on the answers to these questions.
Frankly, I'm hoping it finishes them both off for good. (The scummy media even more than the dangerous Obama.)
The scriptures call sex between single people “fornication” and you can find several scriptures on the matter.
However, Jesus came so that we could have forgiveness of sin. (If we ask Him for forgiveness.) We are not to sit in judgment of others. They must get this forgiveness with their own confession to the Lord and an invitation to Him to become part of their lives.
I understand the Palin’s are Christians. This is also wonderful.
Bet all you want, teenage girls make mistakes and get pregnant before wedlock. It is not damaging to Gov. Palin. It is unlikely McCain didn't know about this, that would imply Gov. Palin withheld information from him.
I do not believe that that Gov. Palin would have lied by omission to McCain.
Pray for Miss Palin and her child, that is all that is necessary.
An example of the left wing media being misguided by misconceptions about the Christian Right being overtly judgmental. This smear is not going to work with people who have actually read, understand, and accept the Gospel of Christ. How could it?
Those numbers are correct. Check the cdc.gov website, it has all the sad statistics.
Christians will love her, the left already hates her, and everyone else will know it can happen to anyone. Doesn’t change anything.
Yep, me too. Everyone can make a mistake, the real test is how one deals with it. I am not a religious man, but it is my understanding that there was only one perfect man, and that the rest of us fall short in one way or another.
I have, and I can't seem to find that first stone to cast at Miss Palin.
May I borrow for tagline?
Obama campaign staff is pushing this. See other thread. I also copied this from another thread. Make no mistake - Obama is working in collusion with a 527 to smear Palin. He’s that scared.

Barack Obamas backers emailed reporters about the divorce controversy, but refrained from on-the-record commentary about the divorce files.[7] On March 29, 2004, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Schnider ruled that several of the Ryans divorce records should be opened to the public, and ruled that a court-appointed referee would later decide which custody files should remain sealed to protect the interests of Ryans young child.[8] The following week, on April 2, 2004, Barack Obama changed his position about the Ryans soon-to-be-released divorce records, and called on Democrats to not inject them into the campaign.[7] The Ryan campaign characterized Obamas shift as hypocritical, because Obamas backers had been emailing reports about the divorce records prior to Judge Schniders decision.[7] from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Ryan_(Senate_candidate)
0bama is repeating what he did 4 year ago with Jack Ryan.

Well said. There is really nothing to add.
What image? Most of the country just got introduced to Sarah Palin less than 72 hours before this article was posted on the Internet at 3:45PM today (2008-09-01 15:43:20).
That means that all this "research" was done between 48 hours and 72 hours after we were all introduced to her.
Now, her image is "suffering"?
What is this - fast food?
WHY does she have to tell the “votes (sic) of Alaska ANYTHING....it’s none of their da*n business, just as it really isn’t anyone elses business. Sheesh....such busibodies.
If that happens, I hope Palin says, you know, Barack reminded us in his speech that fathers needed to step up to the plate with responsibility, so we are proud of Bristol’s fiance and we think the world of him. And we are proud we raised a daughter who valued life enough to bring this child into the world even though it wasn’t “convenient” for her at this time in here life.
We love them both unconditionally, in fact, we would love them if we heard they snorted coke and wrote about it in a tell all autobiography or plagiarized their law school papers. And did we mention how much we love our son who enlisted in the Army last September 11th....and he has asthma.
The way the Palin family is handling the daughter’s pregnancy shows that they walk the walk when it comes to rejecting abortion as a solution.
This family has walked that walk twice in the past year, but somehow that just doesn’t register with abc.
