Listening to news on the radio right now.
About five stories BEFORE even mentioning Bristol’s pregnancy, and that only briefly.

PALIN ADMITS HER 17-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER IS PREGNANT
A Chinese proverb applies (as I learned while getting my bachelors
degree from a VERY conservative college associated with the
conservative mainstream Churches of Christ):
There is no home that can honestly place a sign above the
door of their house that says:
There are no problems in this home!
May Providence preserve Sarah Palin as she undergoes a real
"trial by fire"!!!
I'm not saying Sarah Palin is perfect or a saint...
BUT SHE SURE BEATS THE H-LL OUT OF OBAMA/BIDEN.
(and maybe even McCain...did I actually say that?)

Thanks, I know all about what condoms are for. I just mistyped; should have written "teenage pregnancy".
Naturally. Although since condoms are anathema to Roman Catholics, I just thought I'd make sure. ;)
FWIW though, I have a great deal of respect for the RC's consistent (at least on paper) teaching against contraception.
Humanae Vitae is something that EVERY Christian should read.

I think this falls in line with rope-a-dope tactics. Don’t forget what Barackula said, “I don’t want my daughter punished with a baby.” This is a land mine for the left to step on.

I just checked out DU to see what the initial response is. (They call it Faux news - geddit?) So far they are sort of blinking in confusion as they realize their Trig story just evaporated. I think this also defuses any October suprise bounce if they should announce Michelle Obama is pregnant.

To me this is an issue of minor significance. We are all humans and we make mistakes. Its what we do in those circumstances that is important. Seems to me the Palin family handled this just fine thankyou—gives me one more reason to VOTE FOR, McCain/Palin.

The difference clearly was that Edwards was a hypocrite and that he used his wife as a shield. The two Americas actually referred to the two people he was sleeping with.

>>>>>>The Palins seem Happy with the news. I don't know about that. Out of wedlock pregnancies are still frowned upon in our civilized society. And Evangelicals are a big part of society.
With all the hyperventilated replies on this thread, folks need to keep their feelings and emotions in check.
Again, this isn't a positive event for McCain's campaign and its not gonna help get him elected.

So? Jamie Lynn Spears got a pass and the press even lauded over her for it. Let’s see how the MSM compares/contrasts the two. Both 17, both marrying the father of the baby.

This is something unfortunately common in families, more than people think. It's happened in my extended family, and probably many of yours. All parents can do is teach their sons and daughters the right thing and hope they make the best decision.
Sometimes things happen and things are now much tougher for Palin's daughter. I am glad to see that she is doing the right thing, as the father is doing. Kids need two parents. How the situation is handled is the true judge of character of all family members involved.
Unfortunately, the media jackals and leftists scumbags are going to have a field day. Those pushing this story should get knee-capped. Steve Benen, Andrew Sullivan. They think nothing of going after a 17 year old who isn't running for office. To them it is collateral damage.

What would Obama do?At five months into his daughter's pregnancy Obama would still be giving himself four and a half months to decide whether she was carrying a human being or another alien pod creature like himself.

Thank God someone has some sense. What idiots think any sort of birth control is 100 percent foolproof? I’ve always wondered about that.
Had a laugh the other day. A friend of my husband was celebrating his parents’ wedding anniversary. He’s the oldest. He says he always tells his dad, “I’m the best damn mistake you ever made!”
