ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

The pregnancy was mentioned in the FR Dayton Live Thread 3 days ago (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2070541/posts?page=592#581), but not many picked up on it.
I just wonder how the libs distorted it into the crazy story that Sarahs son is Bristols? Its like playing the game Gossip when youre a kid.
Good point!
I hope this is gnawing at him.
“The holier-than-thou arm of the GOP is going to want to have Sarah burnt at the stake. Her daughters moral failing is HER moral failing...in their eyes.”
so screw them. The GOP is not the party for intolerant religious stereotypes such as “The Church Lady” or the mother in Stephen King’s “Carrie”
We have more than enough people.
We don't need any more.
More crowding means more laws, more government, less freedom.
‘”Good for Bristol. And I hope she has 10 or 15 more babies after this one.”’
“Having read Mark Steyn’s “America Alone,” I heartily agree. And I also agree because the Palins seem to be very loving and family-oriented, and although this is a mixed blessing, they’ll focus on the “blessing” part. “
YES ! We need good families with lots of kids now more than ever. Birth control and abortion = our downfall.
Senior McCain advisers said the Arizona senator and his top aides had known about Bristol's pregnancy before offering Palin the No. 2 spot on the GOP ticket.
"Senator McCain's view is this is a private family matter. As parents, (the Palins) love their daughter unconditionally and are going to support their daughter," said McCain spokesman Steve Schmidt.
Said Schmidt: "Life happens."
Steve Schmidt is on it. Every action coming out of this campaign since he took charge has been brilliant. Sen. McCain is clearly standing by Gov. Palin. They will weather this storm just fine.
I agree.
Sincerely,
Oliver North
Be prepared to see this included in everyone’s political arguments. Our side will say things like:
You see Sarah had her own baby
No big deal it happens all the time now
Hey at least she didn’t kill it
Obama would have killed it
But she’s going to marry the father
It will take a genius to spin this.... calling Karl calling Karl, come in Karl
Oh sure. Everyone would be praising the leftist.
lol
2004 cost him his shot. That was his shot. He didnt have the amount of support at all this time around that he did in 2004. Secondly, have you heard anything about him in the press the last couple days. No.
Quit making excuses for the brat.
I agree and I understand that. If they think this was handled properly and with class and dignity, than the independent clueless voters who don't pay attention won't have a problem with it.
Forever. Attempt to get their candidate elected. What makes you think MOST people think adoption is the best solution? IHMO, the "best solution" is one that does not kill the baby. All the rest is secondary. The media would keep it active in an attempt to make republicans look bad. It's the same reason that you can rarely read an article about Ted Bundy without seeing it mentioned that he was a republican.
No one is saying that she has to get married. If they want to, great, if not that's okay, too. Like everything else in this situation, it's really none of my business.
As for how would the media get the info, how did the Obama campaign get his opponent's divorce records unsealed?? In this day and age, nothing completely private when a relative is in the spotlight.
He never had a shot to begin with. That empty suit couldn’t even get elected in his own state.
While I respectfully hope we can all get behind McCain/Palin, I also appreciate your hard work in this forum. You have a clever and memorable screen name. If we all agreed one hundred percent, we’d be pod people. FRegards ....
Something like one out of three kids in America is now born out of wedlock (36% actually....”ATLANTA (AP) - Out-of-wedlock births in the United States have climbed to an all-time high, accounting for nearly four in 10 babies born last year, government health officials said Tuesday.” http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8LHMFDO0&show_article=1)
It’s gonna be hard to attack Palin on this without also attacking an ENORMOUS number of young women and families in America.
This isn’t rare at all.
Is he black? If so, oh boy. What will Obama supporters say?
