ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

McCain said he did know. He apparently respects the Palins despite them being horrid, retched creatures who should crawl under a rock.

To put this in perspective, the Blue Dress was mishandled terribly by Bill Clinton, and the voters gave the DNC more House seats in 98. As I posted earlier, but it bears repeating, the Americans forgave far much worse than this in the past. But the Saints of the Free Republic foresee far into the horizon with wisdom beyond my comprehension.

Parents giving their teens contraceptives sends mixed messages at best, and more likely encourages teens to do things which they shouldn't be doing at that stage in their lives in the first place.

Exactly!

The media ignores Clinton’s lust, Biden’s plagiarism, and Obama’s anarchist friends, but a young girl not running for anything is fair game. I despise them.

What can you say when her picture is plastered on the front page of major city newspapers (the NY Post picture is even worse).

“I have a 17yo son who, knock wood and hoping and praying, is not yet sexually active. I talk to him more than he likes about all these issues. He knows where we stand. But if his girlfriend became pregnant, what should we say? Get the heck out of my house, sinner? You have to love and support your children in order to ensure the health and well-being of the next generation, if for no other reason.”

I know where you are coming from. I have to say the good thing about this was another father-daughter “conversation.” Of course you still love your children, but do you run for VICE PRESIDENT AS A REPUBLICAN (I know, life is not fair). Do we accept this MORE because there was no abortion - does one right correct a wrong. What do we teach children is the key to this to me. And I think we need to teach them having sex at 17 is not acceptable. Others around here think it is no “Big Deal.”

And what about McCain. That is the scary part. Sure some people around here are fine with McCain and so fine with McCain they are blind to him.

You are probably right about Bristol being the only one who knew. You seem to understand just how Bristol has been feeling and gave her very good advice. Kudos.

oh, please. So violation of the Levirate wasn’t quite a capital offense, but coitus interruptus was?

You have already lost the argument here

Or the coitus interruptus was the straw somehow that broke the camel’s back? Give me a break. The twin offenses were failure to honor the Levirate (by far the biggest) and refusal to consummate the marriage (second). “spilling seed” (much less masturbation) still has nothing to do with it.

Many biblical passages began to be misinterpreted in the middle ages, and this was one of the worst offenders.

You know who the Church Fathers are right? Check them out as well. Way before the middle ages. I'll take St. Clement, St. Augustine, St. John Chrysostom, St. Jerome, over the baloney of "modern" liberal scholarship.

“How did McCain handle this badly? How would you have handled it?”

Mike Pence is one thought.

Nobody “has to” get married anymore

Not if they don't care about the child, giving it a safe, secure, intact home. Selfishness is all the rage now.

So then it was the Trig rumour that set the admition in motion.

Any statements as to when the McCain camp gonna was gonna make this known? I presume not less than a week of Palin’s selection. (Then again, it's water under the bridge)

“KIDS DON’T THINK! (I have teenagers . . .)”

To different degrees...I do not subscribe to the view that parents are NOT responsible for their kids...

Indeed brother!!!

We must keep the party pure as the wind driven snow. No sinners, or parents of sinners allowed.

Why, I hear that even the "great" Ronald Reagan committed similar sins.

Can we go back and unelect him? Erase him form the history books?

We can't let anyone know that any Republican, or their kids has ever sinned. The purge must be complete!

Onward Christian solders!!!

Well, I’m one of those fine with McCain. We are going to get him or Obama and if for no other reason that his Marxist economic plan, we cannot have Obama.

My staying home or voting for another candidate will not change the fact that one of those men will be president.

And since when have Republicans been morally pure? I could vote for Newt politically tomorrow, but his treatment of his wife was despicable. Reagan was divorced and had sex outside of wedlock. The Bush daughter was sexually active before marriage, given that the proposal happened on a private camping trip . . .

I don’t have a choice but to vote against Obama, despite how difficult McCain continues to make this.

I’m pretty sure I’m not alone when I say that this is not the election to vote “for” anybody. A very sad year.

Have you ever been to Alaska??? It’s not that backwoods.

It’s reminds me more of the culture in my grandparents small town in East Texas.

"Since Sarah Palin has a young baby, and it is recommended to nurse young babies, this is a reasonable argument."

That was simple minded. Breast pump. Bottle.

Only if you think the only benefit of breast feeding is nutrition. There's also bonding that goes on and is very important for the infant. And for most mothers.

I'm thinking now Palin was chosen so the part of America that identifies with neglected children, working mothers, and screwed up families can identify with the GOP. She might be politically conservative, but not with how she runs her own life. Republicans used to be better than this.
