I agree with Dr. Dobson. I have only read a handful of posts on this thread. Many, many make me sick to my heart. I posted on another thread a couple of days ago:
“.....Exactly! This situation has happened in my family. The child that was conceived is every bit as much a part of our family as are the born in wedlock babies that followed. We all deal with the flesh, we are human and prone to stumble. God realizes this. That is why He sent us His Son!
The child that was born is my beloved grandson. I cant imagine life without knowing him. AND, I never stopped loving his mom, my daughter. I didnt kick her out, I didnt berate her and humiliate her. I was just SO grateful that the very thought of aborting the baby (as encouraged by a couple of her friends), enraged her. She pulled her act together, had the baby.... and later married and had two more. She is today a GREAT wife and mother. I am PROUD of her......”
At NO time did I condemn my child. She made an ENORMOUS error in judgment. In Christian terms, she sinned, acted emotionally and impulsively.... and my grandson was the result.
Well, my own life has been riddled with errors in judgments, in ‘sins’, as has been the case in EVERY person who posts on this board. As a Christian, this has shown ME clearly just WHY it was necessary for God the Father to send us His Son. On my own, through my own efforts, I’d never make it. Thank God for His Son!
In God’s eyes, sin is sin. Harboring hatred in your heart toward your fellow man, malicious gossip and lying, self-righteousness and pride..... are ALL sins that would condemn one to death in God’s eyes.... without Christ’s sacrifice.
Pre-marital sex, resulting in a baby is NO different than the sin of misplaced pride or murder (abortion). I am more afraid of the invisible sin hidden in the hearts of the proud and arrogant among us in the world than I am of learning that the Palin family has had to deal with very common human failings like everyone else.
The Palins love their daughter. They should now hold her close and support her, not refuse to be seen with her or force her to wear scarlet letters in public. Doing that does NOT support the sin. It is NOT hypocrisy to do this. I’d be more upset with them if they hid her away and refused to be seen with her...rejecting her when she needs them most. They recognize her human frailty..... and love her anyway. As I do with MY daughter. They will love and be proud of their grandchild.... as I am with my AMAZING grandson.
I don’t think I’ll read anymore on this thread. Some of the comments I HAVE read have saddened my heart to the point of weeping. People, on the left and on the right, disappoint me so much. Maybe I’m just getting old and weary, but I always expect more of people ...... only to be let down, again and again.

I can't believe I'm stating this, but I agree with you. I'll even go so far as to say to a FReeper with whom I usually vehemently disagree: "Well said."
Just more evidence of why I would love to have a beer with you.
You are dead wrong. Teen pregnancy is a huge social problem. HUGE. Getting pregnant is NO simple Mistake. It takes some effort.

No ma’am I’m not dead wrong. And I respectfully disagree with you as is my right.
Free speech is one of those issues we stand to have crimped with the Fairness Doctrine. It’s a very serious challenge at that. With both houses controlled by the Democrats and Obama in the White House, the Fairness Doctrine will be reinstituted. It’ll happen. And the FCC already stated that the internet was not off limits.
Then there is the spectacle of Universal Health Care. Pure unadulterated socialism. And don’t think Hillary will sit back on her hands in the Senate and NOT be promoting this. It’ll happen. Look also for Universal Pre School etc to be promoted.
War on Terror. As the mother of a son serving in the military, I cringe envisioning another Black Hawk Down. Don’t tell me I’m over reacting. It happened before and it or something like it will happen again under this empty suit.
9/11. Bill Clinton had many chances to get Bin Laden, remember? God forbid an another actual 9/11. But its a real possibility once the enemy sees the pushover they are dealing with. No wait, Tom Kain said that Barak gave Putin a look and that it kept Putin from invading Georgia. Whew, scratch that last worry. We won’t see another 9/11 with Obama.
Gasoline. Forget drilling, offshore or in ANWAR. Better get used to living without. Do you know how many things oil effects from the cost of groceries to makeup? Get used to living without and being told to do without more all the while Obama and his Hollywood buddies party it up.
Guns. I forsee concealed carry laws being challenged by the FED along with an active attempt by an energized liberal establishment to do away with the 2nd amendment.
Taxes. Up, up and far out of sight. It’s to pay off that 3 Trillion in new spending.
Partial Birth Abortion. Celebrated and treated as the norm.
Gay Marriage. Free benefits all the way around in all fifty states, complete with new hate laws for those of us who chose to dissapprove. Result: The family takes a nose dive.
Illegal Immigration. None, because the people here illegally will be given amnesty and will become the newest voting block for the Socialists in Congress.
Sheesh, I re-read what I wrote and I sound alamrist. Yeah, I’m alarmist. I feel alarmist. Barak Obama frightenes the hell out of me. How much of the BS above we can fight to get back or stop, I don’t know. And don’t forget, he’ll get at least 2 appointments on the Supreme Court which can effectively stop us cold.
Another frightening spectacle is that the democrat party has created a sub-culture of people who walk around with their hands out expecting the Federal Govt to ‘fill ‘er up’. They’ll love the hand outs and automaically expect more. I know, I’m related to some of them.
So while teen pregnancy is an issue with genuine social and religious consequences, it isn’t the biggest issue facing the United States at this moment. I agree with you and think the Palin girl blew it big time and very possibly hurt her parents breaking their hearts. But no way will I stand idly by and see Barak Obama CROWNED next January.
Is that what you want because you have issues with a girl’s mistake? It’s a fair question and I’m not attempting to flay you open and be sarcastic. We have got to stay united behind John McCain. It’s vital to our Country. Stay united and fight for your beliefs with him in office, not with a socialist like Obama.
I’m no McCain fan; I don’t trust him on illegal immigration. But the alternative is too frightening to contemplate. I hope I’ve persuaded you somewhat. Please vote for McCain this November. There, I did it and actually asked someone to vote for the man. Never thought I’d end up doing that. What I’ve learned is never say, never.
“The daughter is going to marry the father of the baby.”
I would say she’s not going to have any other choice, given her parents, LOL!
There but for the Grace of God (went) I!
The only way the mods are going to see it is if you hit “report abuse” on the offending post.
Let the Liberal women marry other Liberal women.
Let the Liberal men marry other Liberal men.
Let the Liberals have as many abortions as they want.
Pretty soon there won't be enough of them to worry about anymore.
I think that Sarah Palin is the right person for the job of VP. She has run a state, she has been the CIC of the Alaska National Guard, she has taken on her own party and exposed the corruption from within. She's just the kind of person we need in DC. Her family matters are personal. She seems to be handling them as any concerned mother would.
On to the Palin-Biden debate.
Indeed you are correct.
There isn't anything obvious about that unless you think that children only make mistakes if their parents have made some mistake. Or you think that mother's aren't capable of doing anything but homemaking. It also sounds like you're saying that Sarah has to raise her grand child now too. Bristol might just take on that responsibility herself along with the man she intends to marry.
I'm trying to reduce myself to respond in your idiom. You remember me, don't you? The "mindless thug?"
I realize that. But pointing out one matter of bad behavior, doesn't excuse other bad behavior.
And dragging Reagan into this argument to somehow give it validity or credibility, is specious at best. Pure sophistry more in tune with the liberal mindset.
It’s a shame these idiots don’t understand Obama’s mother was pregnant and unwed with him at 17, and if it were ‘73 instead of ‘61 there may well BE no punishment on America of the ObamaNation!
You are absolutely correct.
i think it is called eating our own? why do we do it?
That’s your opinion. They were weak. I don’t have an emotional attachment to the primary, so I view the candidates with a cold and critical eye.
Were you a Mitt Romney fan?
There are only three people responsible for a kids behavior:
1) the kid
2) the parents
3) the gobmit
Who do you pick?
So if you let the parent off the hook do you blame the kid?
The liberal talking point is to exonerate #2!!
The Palin’s need to spend more time with the girls.
McCain screwed up.
