I agree with Dr. Dobson. I have only read a handful of posts on this thread. Many, many make me sick to my heart. I posted on another thread a couple of days ago:

“.....Exactly! This situation has happened in my family. The child that was conceived is every bit as much a part of our family as are the ‘born in wedlock’ babies that followed. We all deal with the ‘flesh’, we are human and prone to stumble. God realizes this. That is why He sent us His Son!

The child that was born is my beloved grandson. I can’t imagine life without knowing him. AND, I never stopped loving his mom, my daughter. I didn’t kick her out, I didn’t berate her and humiliate her. I was just SO grateful that the very thought of aborting the baby (as encouraged by a couple of her ‘friends’), enraged her. She pulled her act together, had the baby.... and later married and had two more. She is today a GREAT wife and mother. I am PROUD of her......”

At NO time did I condemn my child. She made an ENORMOUS error in judgment. In Christian terms, she sinned, acted emotionally and impulsively.... and my grandson was the result.

Well, my own life has been riddled with errors in judgments, in ‘sins’, as has been the case in EVERY person who posts on this board. As a Christian, this has shown ME clearly just WHY it was necessary for God the Father to send us His Son. On my own, through my own efforts, I’d never make it. Thank God for His Son!

In God’s eyes, sin is sin. Harboring hatred in your heart toward your fellow man, malicious gossip and lying, self-righteousness and pride..... are ALL sins that would condemn one to death in God’s eyes.... without Christ’s sacrifice.

Pre-marital sex, resulting in a baby is NO different than the sin of misplaced pride or murder (abortion). I am more afraid of the invisible sin hidden in the hearts of the proud and arrogant among us in the world than I am of learning that the Palin family has had to deal with very common human failings like everyone else.

The Palins love their daughter. They should now hold her close and support her, not refuse to be seen with her or force her to wear scarlet letters in public. Doing that does NOT support the sin. It is NOT hypocrisy to do this. I’d be more upset with them if they hid her away and refused to be seen with her...rejecting her when she needs them most. They recognize her human frailty..... and love her anyway. As I do with MY daughter. They will love and be proud of their grandchild.... as I am with my AMAZING grandson.

I don’t think I’ll read anymore on this thread. Some of the comments I HAVE read have saddened my heart to the point of weeping. People, on the left and on the right, disappoint me so much. Maybe I’m just getting old and weary, but I always expect more of people ...... only to be let down, again and again.
