Strickland Says Obama Lacks Substance on Economy Sunday, August 17, 2008 COLUMBUS - Just days after lowering expectations on his ability to deliver Ohio for Barack Obama, Gov. Ted Strickland renewed criticism today over the lack of substance coming from his party's presumptive nominee.
"I particularly hope he strengthens his economic message - even Senator Obama can speak more clearly and specifically about the kitchen-table, bread-and-butter issues like high energy costs," said Gov. Ted Strickland of Ohio. "It's fine to tell people about hope and change, but you have to have plenty of concrete, pragmatic ideas that bring hope and change to life."

But, Obama sure has the aging, pissed off, hate-America radical underground militant vote locked.
Strickland is a democrat, but he retains the common-sense and roots from his rural Ohio (where I am right now) upbringing. He’s also a pretty good politician and, so far, governor. He has supported gun rights and smoker’s rights, among other conservative-like issues. He clearly seems to be in touch, a lot of the time, with “...the native values of rural life.” We in Ohio could do worse, and have done so.
Probably better than plan “B” — unfortunate plane crash or a strange infection picked up while on recent vacation.
I’m telling you, folks, Ohio goes in McCain’s win column this November. Many of our state’s leading Dems will not support Obama. (Some even for — get this — racist reasons.) Ohioans know an empty suit when they see one.
yes, and this used to bug me when i was a Democrat!
I don't like the Hill but I can't disagree with this statement.
Looks like Strickland is off Obama’s possible VP list. LOL
Barry Hussein needs to lose by a large margin, that way the more intelligent Democrat leaders will know that candidates too far to the left will not win. They are under the impression that the America-hating, 9/11 “truthers” are all that is out there. It may be that there are a limited number of Marxists outside of American universities, Hollywood and certain websites.
So the tequila set your free? (From your previous party affiliation, that is.)
Why do you think he nominated that Bayh or Beyh guy? It just sounds like one of those duos that will be forgotten 10 years from now
Well welcome to the party! What made you switch?
Yes, another UTB (under the bus), but this is a governor who is expected to turn out the vote state wide using the party apparatus.
No offense to grandma and Rev. Wright, but this time the crack is in the party, not the family/friends.
Something is going on in those closely held, expensive, but more accurate poll numbers. Gov. Strickland has heard about that and is acting accordingly.
What else would explain such a public split?
LOL. I loves the cowbell.
setting himself up for 2012
Actually, Strickland emphatically said he would NOT be Obamas VP.
He’s taking the bullet NOW for Hillary when they nominate her as the Dem candidate.....the wheels are in motion for a cat fight in Denver.
