In the two stories below on Rick Warren's Saddleback Church forum, Sen. Barack Obama made two striking comments.

When asked which Supreme Court justice he would not have nominated, Obama's answer was: Clarence Thomas. Says Obama, "I don't think he was a strong enough jurist or a legal thinker at that time for that. I profoundly disagree with his interpretation [of the Constitution]."
This is another way of saying that, in Obama's view, Thomas wasn't up to the job, and didn't have the experience or qualifications necessary for that high position. So, now... experience does matter?
When asked to define when a baby gets human rights, Obama said that the question is "above my pay grade".
So, either Obama is saying experience matters, but that he doesn't want to make the tough calls, or (and this might be frighteningly accurate) he would prefer to abdicate his responsibility on the really big moral issues to the Supreme Court, where experience really does matter.
How do you expect tough moral decisions from someone who has a Muslim warlord in the family.
His answer to the question ‘why do you want to be president?’ (’I want to be nice to people’) is what you would expect from someone applying for the position of Walmart door greeter.
His response to another question of when a baby becomes a human being (’...it’s...above my paygrade) tells me that he is definitely not ready to be POTUS, but is eminently qualified to be a Walmart door greeter.
Ironic that Thomas and Oblack were both raised by their Grandparents. America is the land of opportunity for every person.

I think when he used the “above my paygrade” answer, he was trying to say that only God knows that answer. Now, that would have been a good way to answer the question, if he had expounded upon it further. But, as usual, his AHHH’s and UMMM’s got in the way.
He is not a coherent speaker. And because of this he lost the election last night.

If Obama thinks such decisions are above the President of the United States, just who does he think has the power - the guy at the UN?

Obamanation did it again. Foot in mouth disease.
I disagree. This is a moral question that is not above anybody's pay grade. The Walmart door greeter is just as qualified to answer it as the Chief Justice or the President.
Unfortunately, experience, education and intelligence provide no greater degree of insight into moral issues. Somewhat the opposite, in my experience.
McCain took EVERY single question and smacked into the next universe. It was obvious to anyone with a conservative bone in his body.
This is no help to McCain. Thomas is thoroughly despised in the black community.
Interestingly enough, he's finally made a statement with which I can agree. These kinds of decisions are above him.
