In the two stories below on Rick Warren's Saddleback Church forum, Sen. Barack Obama made two striking comments.

When asked which Supreme Court justice he would not have nominated, Obama's answer was: Clarence Thomas. Says Obama, "I don't think he was a strong enough jurist or a legal thinker at that time for that. I profoundly disagree with his interpretation [of the Constitution]."
This is another way of saying that, in Obama's view, Thomas wasn't up to the job, and didn't have the experience or qualifications necessary for that high position. So, now... experience does matter?
When asked to define when a baby gets human rights, Obama said that the question is "above my pay grade".
So, either Obama is saying experience matters, but that he doesn't want to make the tough calls, or (and this might be frighteningly accurate) he would prefer to abdicate his responsibility on the really big moral issues to the Supreme Court, where experience really does matter.
That was what came to my mind also. I think it was meant to be that way though since the minister is pro-gay.
He basically said that Blacks don’t have to support Blacks. His answers were nothing more than Liberal jingoisms.
Pray for W and Our Troops
How dare that little pip squeak make those remarks about Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas.
You dope! We're not talking about the killing of homosexuals! Just because spellcheck didn't catch it! Ahhh! HOM*I*CIDAL. [I didn't even know that there was such a word as 'homo-cide'. Dang typo!]
Thomas has a personal backbone like all free men do...Obama is an insecure shape shifter, a poser who will get his strength from the far far left collective like he always has.
"I'm Gumbama, Dammit!"
From what little I was allowed to see of this circus last evening, McPain didn't come off too good either.
NBC made big over how much more comfortable Obi looked.
I also expect we will hear much about how Obi cannot be a racist because he doubted Mr. Thomas' credentials.
The Pay Grade comment should at least suggest to folks that he is too flip, too immature, to be given a real job.
Nevertheless, I'm waiting to see what the minister's follow up sermon sounds like - I'm almost betting he comes out in favor of the dems.
Can someone tell me how the audience for this event was chosen? My 17YO daughter asked and I had to tell her that I didn’t know - but could find out very quickly. Thanks in advance.
Retroactive spell check:
"clealy" = clearly
"interpet" = interpret.
Vewwy skewwy, indeed.
“Obama said that the question is “above my pay grade”.”
Obama has risen to the level of his own incompetence.
So when is “the bullet” going to get that video clip and play it over and over “it’s above my pay grade.” on every topic that nObama has side stepped? It would make two and a half hour feature film.
‘Obama said that the question is “above my pay grade”.’
reminiscent of John “Ketchup” Kerry.
Sounds like what Chico (Freddie Prinze) used to say in “Chico and the Man”—”Not my yob, mon”. Wrong answer for a President wannabe.
If Thomas is judged by his initial jurisprudence prior to appointment, one could say he was a stretch to qualify.
Happily he had charactor and moral fiber along with a mind of unheralded legal depth and now sits on the court for life. He is a great joy.
Obama will not bring joy, but instead would bring strife and economic collapse.
