A federal judge has ruled the University of California can deny course credit to Christian high school graduates who have been taught with textbooks that reject evolution and declare the Bible infallible, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
U.S. District Judge James Otero of Los Angeles ruled Friday that the school's review committees did not discriminate against Christians because of religious viewpoints when it denied credit to those taught with certain religious textbooks, but instead made a legitimate claim that the texts failed to teach critical thinking and omitted important science and history topics.
Charles Robinson, the university's vice president for legal affairs, told the Chronicle that the ruling "confirms that UC may apply the same admissions standards to all students and to all high schools without regard to their religious affiliations."

We can talk about the Dominists some more if you want.
stupid, nah, but satan will do well to ensure the ruse.
Satan likes lies, even the implicit ones.
Besides all they have to do is touch on evolution and it doesn't have to be with the dogmatic mindlessness required by public schools.
Anyway, if they emphasize undeniably objective facts in their science curriculum -- math, languages, original texts (i.e. Novum Organum), chemistry, the laws of electromagnetism and other aspects of physics, objective biology (i.e. anatomy, genetics) -- the would be no objections and the kids would star in college.
And they would be much better prepared to deal with the propaganda and sloppy reasoning of some professors.
Actually, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make the read The Origin of Species and the Descent of Man.
But...His existence can not be proven with scientific rigor, and certainly not to the standard to convince an atheist whose faith lies in His non-existence.
Since the existence of God can not be proven scientifically, everyone (who is sentient) has a religious belief concerning God. They believe he exists. They believe it is possible, or they believe God does not exist.
Perhaps you can show me, a firm believer in God, and those atheists on the thread, who believe He does not exist, how His existence can be proven.
including the biggest one of all.
Big ones, little ones, they’re all good. He probably gets a big kick out of the ones the get told for God.
You point to a minuscule number of people who are *not* following the tenets of Christianity and call them an example of Christianity.
I point out that in the **entire** nation of India there is a gross distortion of the ratio of boys to girls and the higher death rate of girls if they manage to make to birth.
Wow! This disproportionate death rate for girls is due to the **entire** society's disrespect of life and for women.
Let's see: Tiny group of people not following their faith vs entire nation of India.
Yeah! Keep talking!
Don’t you want to talk about Buddhists burning Christians any more?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Why?
If this Christian school gives in to these requirements, then the before long it will be the *government* who is **dictating** to *all* schools ( Secular and religious) just what is and is not acceptable in many or all of their courses. We will have a system of privately run government controlled schools. Wow!
I see this as the nose of the government camel under the tent of every private school in the nation. Every government college and university in states across this nation will not be attempting the same.
Historically, how well have these Christian students performed in the University of California schools? My bet is that they have done **very** well. This is likely very true if compared to students educated in atheistic government schools!
I suspect that Secular Humanists wanted to poke their big fat atheistic finger right in the eye of Christians.
This is is entirely about government *thought control*! It isn't the least bit about how well these Christian kids do in the government university. ( In the past or now.)
I see this as the canary in the mine shaft, not only for Christian schools but all private schools and homeschools.
This is a *government* school. *Government* is why this was in court. The government is attempting thought control. If this had been a private college there would have been no court case.
The solution: Keep government as small as possible. The first place to start reducing the influence of government is to get government entirely out of the education business.
The government doesn’t have First Amendment rights at all.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This seems to be lost on the atheistic Secular Humanists who the government thought control.
You’re a propaganda machine on a mission
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Bingo! :-)
And...Free market conservatives who uphold the Constitution ( exactly as written) are having good success!
Dont you want to talk about Buddhists burning Christians any more?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You must have me mistaken with another poster. I have not discussed Buddhists.
I noticed that you've ignored the fact that Americans abort their children at a per capita rate 8 times that of Indians.
Wow! This disproportionate death rate for girls is due to the **entire** society's disrespect of life and for women.
If India is uncivilized due to this, what does our much higher abortion rate make us, I wonder?
Let's see: Tiny group of people not following their faith vs entire nation of India.
We should remove the beam from our eye before we point to the mote in India's on this issue.
Oh, yeah. You're the one who want to talk about Hindus burning Christians.
It is a cruel society that would do that to an infant.
That the abortions and death rates of girls in India are higher than for boys reflects a deep seated contempt for womankind.
All of the above clearly demonstrates that throughout India all souls are not seen as being equal before God.
I wonder what the abortion rate is of practicing Christians and the non-church going. The solution to reducing abortion rates is and always has been getting people back to their Judeo Christian roots.
Finally, I agree with you. The holocaust of abortion in the U.S. does not bode well for our nation and its future.
Zealots of any stripe are dangerous. You’re one of them.
Now you have the right person.
Please do a Google search on the words: Hindus Christians burn. Watch what comes up.
When was the last time you heard of a Christian burning a Hindu? In fact it was the Christian Raj that worked mightily to outlaw the burning of Indian widows. They were still occasionally doing that in my lifetime.
Wow! India. Great place to live.
This is your idea of a civilized nation? Do all Secular Humanist think this?
Zealots of any stripe are dangerous. Youre one of them.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
And atheistic Secular Humanists are not?
Well! Strike me pink! ( Fred Astaire, “The Gay Divorcee”)
You're dodging the question- you still can't get away from the fact that we abort our children at a per capita rate 8 times that of Indians, and twice as much, in absolute terms (even though our population is 300 million versus 1.1 million for India).
I wonder what the abortion rate is of practicing Christians and the non-church going.
You've been damning Indians due to the actions of a small percentage of the population over there. If you want to be fair, then you have to damn the US even more strongly due to the actions of a small percentage of our population, too, since our sins in this area seem to be far worse than India's.
