...One woman who lives in the building had two books authored by Obama in hand and watched as the elevator doors closed. She waited patiently outside the elevator...But a man identified as the building owner said the Secret Service did not allow her to present Obama with the leis. The woman with the books did not get Obama's autograph, either...

Is this the “TYPICAL WHITE PERSON”, or am I confusing people who’ve been thrown under the bus?

Different families different values. Why aren’t the Grandkids crawling all over Grandma? Michelle doesn’t like her? Kids have never met her? What is the real story.
Maybe NE will tell us.

I’m not a conspiracy kind of guy, but this is suspicious. What grandmother wouldn’t want to see her grandchildren? So far I have thought the Birth Certificate stuff was much ado about nothing. But for some reason this “alone” visit makes me suspicious.

Is this the 58th or the 59th state Obama has visited.

Now, didn’t Obama say the trip to Hawaii was in part that his entire family needed some ‘lovin’’ from their grandma??

Democratic presidential hopeful Illinois Sen. Barack Obama waited yesterday afternoon for the doors to close in the elevator that would take him up to visit his grandmother in a Punahou-area apartment.

Imagine how the story would read if this was a Republican candiate!
“Mr. Republican put off visiting his aged granny until after he had delivered a self-serving campaign speech. His wife and children, in a shocking display of mean-spiritedness, entirely neglected to visit the opressed senior citizen.”

I am gonna guess that his wife and daugthers wanted nothing to do with his grandmother, who represented - in their eyes - a typical white person.
To: PghBaldy
I don’t get this - an hour and wife and kids are absent. If her place is a problem, I bet he has a nice suite in a nice hotel and grandmother can be brought there to spend some real time with the family for the vacation week.
He did say they needed to see her....an hour, with press and campaign personnel.
I concur with those who think something is very odd.

He was not accompanied by his wife, Michelle, and two daughters. Is he embarrassed by his other than black grandmother and doesn't want his wife and children to meet her?

and accompanied by a few campaign staff and a pool of reporters and camera crews -- arrived at about 4:10 p.m. yesterday and spent an hour with his 85-year-old maternal grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who helped raise him. He was not accompanied by his wife, Michelle, and two daughters.**********************
This is very strange.

What’s up with that, Barry?
